We went in for a new 2010 Toyota Prius. Mind you, this was before the earthquake/tsunami and just when gas prices were starting to spike. FW Toyota had a lot of 2010s on the lot and Toyota corporate was o was before the earthquake/tsunami and just when gas prices were starting to spike. FW Toyota had a lot of 2010s on the lot and Toyota corporate was offering $1000 cash back or 0% financing up to 5 years. So undoubtedly they had some interest in these cars, but they had a LOT of them and it's nowhere near what their popularity is right now. We went into FW Toyota after doing extensive research on the car and being pretty set on them. Of course, we needed a test drive. Plus, we had a car we were interested in trading. The online price was great. They took $2000 off the MSRP straight away. That's why we went in to FW Toyota in the first place. We went to the dealership on a Friday night and everyone was busy with customers. I am not the type who likes a car salesman hounding you when you first put your foot outside the car door, but I was a little surprised in the 15-20 minutes we spent on the lot and inside the dealership, no one said a word to us "we'll be with you shortly," "sorry about the wait." None of that. We decided to leave. No hard feelings. They were just busy and we would return Monday night. We did that and were pretty quickly greeted by Michael Smith. Nice enough guy. Knew what he needed to about the car, etc. We liked how it drove and of course as soon as we finished the test drive, we were ushered in to "work out the numbers." OK. The first irritating thing is Michael came back with the MSRP pricing. Now, I know there might be some idiots out there who wouldn't bat an eye, but looking at us, my husband and I are 29 and 30. We have smartphones, I had my iPad with me. The guy has got to figure we looked at their online inventory. So the fact he didn't give us the online price straight away is annoying. And then when we brought it to his attention, of course, he "gave" it to us but then made it seem like it was part of the negotiation. I don't think so, buddy. The big sticking point, though, was our trade. We had a 2004 Mazda6 Sport Wagon. Great shape. Every extra except navigation. And they came back with just a ridiculous number. My husband said "that doesn't even cover the payoff" (Not that they should be required to do that, but it was also $1000+ less than Kelly Blue Book's trade-in value was.) So then Michael asked what our payoff was and against our better judgment we told him. He left and came back and the trade-in was still less than the payoff, which just shocked my husband. So then we said we can't do it and we got up to leave (this was not a "bargaining tactic," we just knew what we could afford and we weren't there) and Michael brings back his manager (I forget his name). He had his Kelly BLACK book. Oooh, the mystical black book, which is always crazy low. So he pulls it out and shows us what it's worth according to that. Whatever. We tell him we can't afford what he's giving us and we're done. He asks what we can afford and we say we don't want to play that game. And then the manager says the words that earned him a 2 for "Overall Experience": "I don't know how you CAN'T afford this deal I'm giving you." What an idiot. Yeah, that's why we're in the recession we're in, buddy. Because greedy mortgage reps said that to people who were in over their heads on houses and credit card companies that extended credit to people who didn't have jobs but could buy brand new LCD TVs for 0% financing for 6 months. Yeah, we don't play that game. We left and bought our car somewhere else. A used 2010 Prius with 2.95% financing that looks and feels brand new. More

I called the dealership and spoke to a very plastic salesman. I wanted to get some info before I made the 40 min drive up there. I explained that I didn't really need a new van, but I would like one. S salesman. I wanted to get some info before I made the 40 min drive up there. I explained that I didn't really need a new van, but I would like one. So, I wasnt going to get one unless I could get the payments around what I have now. He wasn't really interested in giving me the info I wanted, just what he thought would get me in the door. I told him never mind and of he changed his tune. He told me that our payments would be less that we are paying now at the buy here pay here lot. So, I packed up the family and went up there. We spoke to a different salesman, just as plastic, who wanted to run our credit immediately. I told him I did not want our credit ran unless, if it was good, our payments would be about the same as what I have now. He and his manager assured me that they would be lower, because there was no way they couldnt beat the buy here pay here. So, we signed the paper. After it was approved we found ourselves immediately in the parking lot for a test drive. Before we went I wanted to know the total price, the payments, and the warranty. He didnt know any of this. After the drive we went in and talked with the salesman and his manager at the same time. I asked the same questions and was told the payments would be 4 something. I asked what 4 something meant. Come to find out it was 495. I am not a math wiz but the is a far cry from the 320 I am paying now. I was told that is the best they could do, after being told 4 times that my payment would be lower. I told them we were not interested and the manager said he was going to stop the bank so it wouldnt look bad on their numbers. So, we had made a 80 miles round trip and wasted hours of our time, which is why I made the phone call first. Not to mention had our credit ran, which effects it in a negative way. The following day the salesman called and said he found just what we were looking for. Which I found odd, because I thought we were done. I asked him how many miles were on it, total price, payments and for how long, and warranty. He didnt know any of these things. He said he knew I was already upset so he would get all of the info and call me back. When he called back he only knew 3 of the 5 things I needed. Now I am wondering why I am still talking to this guy. But I know when you have credit ran it takes off points, and I did not want to do that again some where else if I didnt have to. He called back and gave me the rest of the info. I told him i would talk to my husband and I, again I, would call him back the following day to let him know if we wanted to make the 80 mile round trip again to test drive it. The next day he called me 5 times before noon, 3 of which woke me up, and left 2 messages. He already know I was mad, I guess he was going for a record. So, I called and spoke to a lady and asked her to give him a message that I did not want him to call my phone again and I was not interested, and I explained. A couple of weeks later I received the letter that you get when you dont pass credit, and I received another one today. Funny, huh? Our credit was good when they thought we were going to buy a van from them. I was a sales person for a long time, sales people like this are one of the main reasons I am not now. I would not even talk to these people unless you like being lied to, bullied, extremely angry, and wasting a whole lot of time. I am also going to report them to the BBB. I dont know how they can make our credit look bad to make there numbers look good. And I really dont know how they sleep at night knowing the only way they are selling anything is by taking advantage of people. More

I came in looking for a new Sorento and drove one home that very day. Chad was very easy to talk with and made of point of understanding the type of vehicle I was looking for and why I wanted that particular model. I never felt pressured to buy nor did I feel that all Chad wanted to do was make a sale - thus a profit. I appreciated the fact that Chad took the time to work on getting me a price and payment I was comfortable with. It is due to Chad's dedication to quality customer service that I drove my new Sorento home that day. Although I live a little over one hour away from Ft. Wayne I will return to Fort Wayne Kia for all my vehicle service and will most definitely purchase my next new vehicle from Chad. I highly recommend Chat Witte as the guy to do business with! More

I drove into Ft. Wayne Kia expecting to leave with the vehicle I had driven in due to the fact of the payoff amount on my Dodge. It was about $4000 over the resale value and about $8000 over trade in valu vehicle I had driven in due to the fact of the payoff amount on my Dodge. It was about $4000 over the resale value and about $8000 over trade in value. I had already come in on a Sunday and looked over the vehicles on the lot and had picked out the 1 I wanted. I walked over to the 1 I had pick and it couldn't have been more then 15 or 20 seconds and Kyle Boyer came over to me and ask if he could help me find something to take home!We talked about what I was looking for and I explained to Kyle about the payoff on my Durango. It didn't stop him from going to work on a deal even though I thought it would never happen. He asked for my keys so he could take my vehicle to get it appraised and he said he would get the keys for the Sorento I had picked out. He was gone just a few minutes and returned with a set of keys and we took the car out for a spin. It wasn't just your average take it around the block drive either!! We went through some lots and drove some streets and he took me to a set of railroad tracks. Kyle wanted me to get a real feeling of how the car rode on the smooth and rough roads both. We hit the freeway so I could see how much get up and go it had too!! We returned to the lot and went to his office and chatted for a while. By now I really wanted this vehicle, but figured the payoff on mine was going to stop the deal. Kyle went and returned with some paper work and when we went over it they offered me full trade-in value for mine where no other dealer had even come close. That made me still behind on payoff, but they worked out the numbers with trade and rebates and I couldn't believe it, they had worked me a deal I couldn't pass up! Kyle asked if I could work with this deal and then he took me to met Dave in finance. Dave and I talked and I knew they wouldn't make much on the deal but they worked it out anyways. I think that, thanks to Kyles' hard work and the time he had to spend with me working the deal,That FT.Wayne Kia will get my repeat business, and even though I live 2 hours from Ft. Wayne I will be taking My New Kia back to them for all my service and needs! Again I thank Dave in finance for doing the numbers and especially Kyle for all his hard work and patience to see the deal through! Gratefully, J. Rudy New Ft. Wayne Kia customer!!! More
