Had a horrible experience with this Kia service department. Was mislead and told a bunch of falsehoods and flat out untruths. Amazing for a major dealership. Sad. The service manager, Scott Croc department. Was mislead and told a bunch of falsehoods and flat out untruths. Amazing for a major dealership. Sad. The service manager, Scott Crockett was totally uncaring, did not want to hear my complaint at all and walked away during the conversation. Totally unprofessional. Don't support this dealership. More

We were told the SUV was a special order and the customer backed out because he couldn't wait for it to arrive. OK cool his lost our reward. We grab the window sticker and see the "dealer markup" for some accessories. $750 ok no problem. We still want the ruck. So, we go in to start "crunching" the numbers and the “Deal Structure” only to see they added another $4k to the SUV as a “Market Value Adjustment”. I totally get this added value, BUT I believe it is deceptive at the least if not against the law to “Advertise” the total on the car in writing and then try to add more to it in the deal. So, we left, not wanting to be hast in any way and went and looked at other like SUV’s. After about 90 mins She decided this is what she wanted so I call the salesman and tell him we want to come back and discuss buying the SUV and we go back to buy the Telluride. We arrived and Walked in and started to negotiate the deal. After several mins with the original salesman James Mendenhall and talking numbers because I was concerned about the added market value of $4k. he then went to discuss this with the desk manager Mark Olsen. James returned and I was told the $4k stays. Basically “take it or leave it”. We decide ok we will agree and take it. Then James goes back to the desk and is told the SUV is sold. Then points to a gentleman we were sitting right next to. OK no problem, call it fate. We get up and leave. So far, this dealership is just deceptive. Less than an hour later my daughter in law gets a text from another salesman “Michelle” saying James asked here to reach out and inform us the “deal” fell through and it was available again. we call Michelle and she informs us James is with another client and the SUV is available. Then we start discussing the market Value again. We are told the same thing. Take it or leave it. At this point we decide ok fine, lets by it because she really wants it. Great since it’s a pandemic lets do this no contact deal and start the paperwork. Michelle is now asking about a deposit. We are leasing the vehicle so no deposit as none but what is absolutely needed for doc fees and what not will be given. It’s a lease… we are not buying it nor with our credit is any deposit necessary. She places me on hold and come back about 5 mins later and tells us that there is someone there right now wanting to buy the SUV. I told her we were there earlier and we should have first right at the SUV. She says unless we are willing to put up $1K right now the SUV is sold. We are like what!?? I said this is a done deal, do the contactless pandemic deal over the phone. Its done lets go. She then says well if you don’t have a deposit then you’ll have to come back to the store again and buy it. OK fine. I tell her we are on the way. We are maybe 10 mins away. Just as we are pulling into the dealership James calls and starts to tell us the SUV is sold. Now I am just pulling up into the dealership. I see James hanging on a car door in front of the dealership on the phone with me. I get out of my vehicle and he tells me sorry the guy put down a deposit and it’s sold. It was at this point I let him, respectfully, have a piece of my mind and he says sorry, first come first serve. I told him we were here first like 6 hours ago! I then ask for the GM’s and sales manager’s name. Byron Klemaske and Mark Olson. So, The General Sales Manager was actually the puppet master behind all of this. This is a total lack of respect for a customer and it comes directly from the General Sales manger himself. I’ll be calling the BBB, FTC, and the owners group management at Findlay to lodge a complaint for this poor behavior. More
