Hindsight revealed they had actually pit me against another potential buyer which explains why they raised the price of the truck I was attempting to purchase after an initial offer was made. This being my first experience with a dealership, I truly wasn’t sure if this was the path I should take for my purchase. However, when I found the truck that I wanted at Englewood Ford, they did everything they could to make sure communication was fast, honest and direct. It was night and day different from my first experience in McKinney; so much that I started to wonder if I was being cheated. Preston, the sales representative, contacted me on a regular basis, sent additional photos and videos of the vehicle I was interested in, continuously reassured me that it was of the quality I was seeking, made the negotiation easy and painless on a vehicle that I had extensively researched and understood what a fair deal was, picked me up from the airport because I had to fly to Tampa to purchase the vehicle (which was 90 minutes each way), allowed me to hold the vehicle with a completely refundable fee, and had me in and out of there in less that 2 hours so I could drive the truck home! Having had the vehicle for a few weeks now, I can see that it truly was everything it was advertised to be! Nothing hidden that wasn’t working, no gremlins that I discovered, and it was genuinely a quality truck at a very fair price. Shane (salesman) provided great customer service when I bought my used truck. There were a few issues that I addressed when I purchased the truck and was told the service center couldn’t fix it. I brought my vehicle in for a recall repair which went great, but I asked for additional service. The technician told me I MUST do certain items, however, I understood the repair being discussed (I have done it personally) and I felt I was railroaded into having to do items that I know are favorable, but not necessary. I was never provided a written copy of the warranty contract or any warranty documentation at the time of sale — a direct violation of the FTC Used Car Rule which requires warranty terms to be made available to consumers before signing. When the moonroof was denied I contacted Nick directly referencing his bumper-to-bumper promise. He never disputed it. Englewood Ford’s General Manager acknowledged my complaint but refused to take responsibility, directing me to deal with the warranty company myself. The turbocharger failure left the vehicle unreliable for nearly eight months causing documented business income losses. I have filed a civil lawsuit in Charlotte County Court, Case No. 26000939CC for fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of contract, and violations of Florida consumer protection law. If you are buying here — demand the full written warranty contract before you sign and read every exclusion carefully. What they tell you verbally and in writing may not match what the warranty actually covers. More
