Lots of Excuses I took my 2018 Ford EcoSport to Elk Grove Ford for several warranty issues (this is after almost 1 year of driving and 3,00 miles) so I could determin I took my 2018 Ford EcoSport to Elk Grove Ford for several warranty issues (this is after almost 1 year of driving and 3,00 miles) so I could determine what warranty issues I needed to have checked: (1) The radio frequently resets itself to AM and requires me to re-select the radio station source, and the audio settings will not “save.” The immediate response from the Service Representative was that “Ford Warranty will not pay for the time needed to troubleshoot a problem – only to repair the problem. As it turned out, the radio station problem did not happen at the dealer, so they did nothing. The problem happens about once each week, but they tell me I have a bumper to bumper warrantee for 3 years – how will that help me if they will not troubleshoot the problem? (2) The rear window washer shoots a stream of water on the rear window (not a spray as the front windshield washers “spray”) – demonstrated to the service representative – their answer – we checked another EcoSport on the lot and it does the same thing, so there is no problem. One of my complaints was that the transmission shifting seems sluggish, and they had the Service MANAGER ride on a road test – before the road test, he remarked that the vehicle only had less than 3,000 miles on it, and he told me I need to drive it more – the car needs to be driven. I do not need anyone telling me how to drive my vehicle and there is nothing in the FORD manual that demands that I drive my vehicle a specific number of miles. The Service MANAGER suspected that the problem with the radio was related to the battery voltage dropping to a certain percentage because of the engine turning itself off and re-starting at stoplights. Seems like that is something they can check and confirm or…find the real cause and correct it. During the road test, the Service MANAGER asked me if I bought the vehicle from Elk Grove Ford – I said NO because they quoted a price that was more than $2,000 higher than what I eventually paid for the same vehicle with the same options. I plan to write a letter to this dealership and Ford HQ to let them know that making excuses to customers who take time from their day to schedule appointments for warranty work only reflects badly on the local business and FORD. Simple answer: Troubleshoot the problems, Fix the problems, and stop making excuses! The result will be happier customers who trust Ford and your dealership! More
Elk Grove Ford Uses Deceptive Financing Tactics I have been a loyal Ford owner now for my last 2 cars and have had pleasant experiences the way Ford treats its customers until now. Elk Grove Ford in I have been a loyal Ford owner now for my last 2 cars and have had pleasant experiences the way Ford treats its customers until now. Elk Grove Ford in California seems to take deceptive actions to sell Ford vehicles. I applied for Financing online on 2/8/2019 and the online sales person almost immediately got back to me about financing. He let me know that he would contact me the next day (2/9/2019) about car offers (which he did). The problems started with Ray in financing. We arrived at Ford around 1:00pm and after credit checks and an assessment of my cars trade in value I was sent to Ray to talk numbers. After several hours we came to an agreement about the final offer based on my credit and leader offers. He was offering me an APR of 1.9% from Ford Credit if I would sign (other items included in the signing as well). We also had to wait until 8:00pm to get the car that was being delivered from another city. YO YO FINANCING TACTICS: On Wednesday (2/20/2019 @ 12:25pm) Ray called me to let me know that FINANCING DID NOT GO THROUGH and that he would be terminating the contract. He said that he sent me a letter already (which I did not get until Friday 2/22/2019 @ 2:45pm) officially letting me know that the contract was being canceled and that I had to take back the vehicle immediately. Here is the catch, I could lease the car instead at a HIGHER PRICE POINT OVERALL and keep the car (making for of a profit). I did some research and this is called YoYo Financing. It is a deceptive act taken by Ray and the Ford Motor Company to get sales and make as much of a profit as possible. 10 DAYS TO CANCEL: Not only that but in the contract under “Seller’s Right to Cancel” it stipulates, “Seller shall give you written notice (or in any other manner in which actual notice is given to you) within 10 days of the date this contract is signed if Seller elects to cancel.” Since they called me on the 20th that is the 11th day of the contract, in which case they are not allowed to cancel the contract based off of their own wording. DECEPTIVE DATING OF LETTER: The letter that was sent to me letting me know that the contract was being canceled was dated 2/9/2019 the same day I had bought the car. Why would I have a letter dated the same day I bought the car say that financing was not approved yet I did not drive off the lot until 8:00pm that evening after being there all day starting at 1:00pm? More interesting, the envelope of the letter was postmarked on 2/19/2019 (the last they that they had a right to cancel). So, they knew I was not getting credit when I bought the car, but still approved the car for sale and waited until the last moment to send me a letter canceling the contract! THEY LOST MY CAR: Starting Wednesday (2/20/2019) I continued to ask them where my trade-in vehicle was and they continued to tell me they did not know. Even when I took their car back to the dealership on 2/24/2019 they had no idea where my vehicle was. Finally, they said that they sent it out to auction and that they would be able to get it back by Monday 2/25/2019. If Financing did not go through why would they already send my car to auction? SUMMARY: As stated earlier, Elk Grove Ford is using YoYo Financing tactics, they will make you believe that financing went through and then even try and auction your car off before they knew that financing has gone through. On top of that, they wrote a letter to me canceling the contract the same day I bought the car and even before I left the lot! This is all so shady and not what I had expected from Ford. I will NEVER go back to a Ford vehicle again and I will NEVER recommend anyone to buy from Ford. They will do anything to make a profit. Your once loyal customer, More

Pushy salesman, horrible service experience I don't like to leave bad reviews because I know customer service can be tough. That being said, this place has made too many mistakes to be ignored I don't like to leave bad reviews because I know customer service can be tough. That being said, this place has made too many mistakes to be ignored at this point. The only nice thing I can say is that the service managers are very easy to work with. At this point I'd rather deal with poor customer service and good repairs. I bought a lemon/2006 Ford Escape from them in August 2010 with a 36k/3 yr. warranty. The salesman was pushy and lied several times about options. In December my transmission went out. I knew this was a likely event, as I had done research on the car. It was covered by the warranty, so it wasn't the end of the world. They did however take 2 weeks to decide whether to fix it or replace it. Another 6 months goes by and my panel control module (computer) goes out. This was not covered by the warranty. The car was useless without it, so I paid the 2k to replace it. This is where the ridiculous mistakes started happening. When I got the car back I had several electrical issues. My cruise control was spotty, as well as the power locks on the driver side door. I brought it back in to have them looked at and they magically worked when the mechanic took it out or a drive and he said to bring it back when it happened again. It happened as I drove away, but it was closing time. I live an hour away, so I just dealt with the electrical issues. Next, my brake lights stopped working. I tried to replace the bulbs and it kept blowing fuses, 10 to be exact. I brought it in to find it was an issue with a current being grounded at the junction box. They made some minor repair, and didn't replace the junction box. When I drove away my back passenger blinker didn't work. Again, I tried to replace the bulb and it blew the fuses. I brought it in a month later to have them tell me it was the junction box. They decided to replace it and it was covered by the warranty. All the while I am paying $100 deductibles, for a mistake that should have been rectified the first time. I had the cruise control looked at and it was an issue that was not covered by the warranty. They failed to tell me this until I received the bill, which charged me 62.50 to have it looked at. I find this a little odd since the cruise control wasn't an issue until they replaced my panel control module. Why I am I paying for them to fix their mistakes??? I tried to check the car to make sure things worked before I left the lot, as the mistakes were piling up. I didn't find anything until I stopped for gas. The clicker to lock and unlock the car didn't work anymore. I was flabbergasted that I drove away with ANOTHER issue. Needless to say I will never buy another car or warranty from this company. If their service department was not part of the deal I would never have returned and I suspect they would not be in business at all. More

The only thing is I was hoping they could take a little more off the price but it's not a big deal. I'm a satisfied costomer and I would reccomend this place to a friend. Thanks! Megan More
