I have a 2010 Mazda Tribute with 23,000 miles on it. I have had it in the shop 3 times since I bought it and 2 of those times it had to be towed. Most recently the engine would just go into idle without have had it in the shop 3 times since I bought it and 2 of those times it had to be towed. Most recently the engine would just go into idle without notice as I am driving down the road. It is still under warranty so I had it towed on Sunday. On Monday morning I received a call from someone in service saying that he thought it might be the alternator because his car was doing the same thing. At 2 p.m. I called back to the service department and they told me they would need to order a throttle housing because Mazda support told them there had been 2000 instances like mine and that is what fixed the problem. They said the part would come from Atlanta the next day. He said there is a 99.9% probability that the part would come in. I called on Tuesday at around 1 p.m. and was told that the part had not come in and that they were now ordering a part from Texas. Curtis then informed me that I could have a rental car since this was warranty work. He said he would call Enterprise and let them know. I waited a little while and called Enterprise only to find out that Curtis had not called. I continued to catch rides to and from work. On Wednesday at 11 a.m. I called and was told that the part had still not arrived. I asked if I could speak to a manager. I was forwarded to Cecil who told me that there is a new service manager named Pete. I asked to speak with him but he was unavailable at the time. The part was still not in. Pete called me shortly after my conversation with Cecil. He assured me he was monitoring my situation. He arranged for a rental which I have now. It is Thursady afternoon and I still don't have my car and no one has called to give me an update. I am afraid that the problem won't be corrected even when they do call me since they didn't diagnos it they just matched the symptoms to a database. I may just take the car to Honda or Toyota when I get it back and trade it in. I hate to but I have never had this much trouble with any vehicle especially one under warranty and can't stand the thought of having to go back to this dealership. I strongly recommend you not go to Ed Howard Mazda. More
Compare prices on parts and service. Some parts over priced and little extra fees added...i.e. "shop charge for repair order"! I guess when you spend hundreds of dollars with them they feel the need to still charge you a fee to draw up a repair order. They also mail out coupons that basically worthless as the price you pay is the price they charge you for the work. I was quote 690$ for a service. When i took in the coupons it was the same price. So why mail me out coupons??? Is this really a deal?? It seems just like a way to get you in their store so they can just get your business. I would advice to get a FULL PRINT out of your service agreement and shop around before you sign it. One example is a spark plug.... Ed Howard charged me $16.28 for one platinum plug, i called around and found the plugs for $3.28 a plug. Now they will try to tell you that their plug is original parts from Mazda and it cost more, however, the plug I was quote is a better plug and rated for a longer life then what Mazda put in my car. When i spoke to the service people about the matter it really did not matter to them. They seem to have an excuse to everything I would bring up. Rather then working with me about my concerns and trying to keep my business they were happy with just telling me that they have the right to charge whatever they feel like. SO I ADVISE YOU ALL TO GET A FULL PRINT OUT OF THE SERVICE, (JUST NOT THE TOTAL OF THE SERVICE), AND COMPARE PRICES. I have used this dealership for many years but for them to treat me like this was the last straw. I will never assume coupons are really a savings. Please let me make one thing clear.... The people who did the service and worked on the car, they did a wonderful job. I have no problem with the repair shop or the work they do. My concerns are the "service advisers" and the way they draw up the bill and charge for every little thing. What ever happen to customer service??? Do you remember when you took your car in and they would vacuum and wash the car back before they gave it to you? Not talking a full detail but enough were they didn't have hand prints on the car. Customer service should be important. But with Ed Howard Mazda Service it seems that my concerns did not matter. More
The sales staff was low key, but extremely hard-working. There were none of the cliche'd car dealer tricks. Other dealers in the area provided detailed price quotes for cars that didn't exist, simply to get me to make an appointment. Every bit of information that the sales staff provided was solid & reliable. Test drives were long enough, with varied enough roads, to actually be informative. I never felt as if a minute of my time was being wasted. That's rare. Highly recommended. More

I have also had my car in for service work and everyone was very well suited for there position, as everyone I spoke to was knowledgable about the product and treated it as it was there own. I have never been to a dealership that truly cares about what I have to say as Ed Howard Mazda does. As long as they keep the same level of customer service that I have seen over the past year, i will never buy a car from any other dealership!! More
This dealership is run the way you wish all where run. My sales rep was helpful and on the level. Management was accessible and more than helpful. No waiting around forever while a rep talks in the back. I sales rep was helpful and on the level. Management was accessible and more than helpful. I recently had my 30,000 mile check on my 2002 protoge in northern Virginia. When I arrived back in Fl I went to Ed Howard where I bought the car initially, for an oil change. The serviceman, Phil, offered northern Virginia. When I arrived back in Fl I went to Ed Howard where I bought the car initially, for an oil change. The serviceman, Phil, offered to have my tires rotated. They found I had literally no break pads left. As this was a required paid service included in the check I had in VA, I was extremely disappointed to find it overlooked, considering the safetly issue involved. If it hadn't been for Phil Overman suggesting the tire rotation I may have had a serious accident and he quite possibly saved my life. My experience at Ed Howard has always exceeded my expectations and now I'm a lifer for sure. My review of the service I received in VA however will not be nearly as positive, but I am grateful to know there are still some honest caring folks in an area where most women are afraid to deal with. Thank you all so much. Michelle Ryan More
