I have to relate my recent car leasing experience that my wife and I had at Avondale Hyundai 9/27/10. First off let me tell you that I am a Disabled Veteran, and due to a service-connected disability of a le wife and I had at Avondale Hyundai 9/27/10. First off let me tell you that I am a Disabled Veteran, and due to a service-connected disability of a left leg paralysis, I have to walk with crutches. Fortunately, I am able to drive an automatic transmission vehicle, but no manual or stick-shifts. Therefore, it is very important for me to have sales team who are both knowledgeable about the product, as well as being personable and understanding of someone who has disabilities. I had previously done my homework though, and basically knew what I wanted to get and what my budget could afford. My last vehicle was a 1998 Ford Wind-star Van that decided to crap out on its transmission at only 126K and it was not worth fixing. It took leave of me back in the days of gasoline at $4.00+ per gallon in 2008. So, I basically wanted a comfortable, economic vehicle, that included the best warranty. But, as I stated before I definitely did not want some pushy car sales people assisting me in selection. Rather I wanted a team of professionals that could understand me and my car buying needs. The professionals for me were found at Avondale Hyundai. From the moment that I first starting discussing my car buying needs with Mr. Ron Hodge, he understood me and was caring and empathetic to my car buying needs. He even came to pick me up at my house, and drove me and my wife to the dealership. Once there we were greeted with hospitality and respect from everyone there on the Avondale Hyundai Sales team. Additionally, Mr. Hodge took the time to go over the owner manual and other reading materials related to be new 2010 Hyundai Elantra that we ended up leasing and driving home in that night. Finally, "JR" F & I Manager was really a great guy as well, and he helped to make it a very painless process, while at the same time doing all that he could to help us stay within our budget. We must give credit when and where it is due, Avondale Hyundai rates our #10. Thanks Avondale Hyundai Take Care, God Bless, & Be Well! - David & Cristina Hertzberg More
This Genesis is my second car purchase from Avondale Hyundai. My buying experience with Ron was professional and without any 'high pressure'. I see Hyundai products and levels of service as a great overall value. Keep up the great work. Jim Cherry More
My experience with Avondale Hyundai and the Costco car buying program I inquired about purchasing a 2011 Hyundai Sonata through the Costco Auto Buying program. I was referred to Avondale Hyundai and sp buying program I inquired about purchasing a 2011 Hyundai Sonata through the Costco Auto Buying program. I was referred to Avondale Hyundai and spoke with Robert "JR" Steffes. I was under the impression that the Costco program afforded the customer the experience of no hassle and no haggle pricing. It does, but did you know you're not getting the best price the dealership can offer? You're getting a "fair" price. I only found this out because Avondale had the car I wanted with the options I wanted and the price was right (I didn't know they could go lower than the Costco price). The only reason I found out that I could get a better price was because JR said they had the only 3 2011 Hyundai Sonata SE with the options I wanted, in the entire state. This car had everything except the Navigation/Sunroof package and it didn't have the Homelink system. I wanted a different color than what they had to offer and he said, "We have the only 3 in the state." I called another dealership, San Tan Hyundai, and they got me the same 2011 Hyundai Sonata SE in the color I wanted with the Homelink system for $7 less per month over 72 months, this was a savings of $504 for a car with at least $250 more options. (The Homelink System is a $250 feature). This car also included the Cargo Mat, iPod Cable and Cargo Net which is worth an additional $180. I don't think that was on the car from Avondale so since I can't be certain of that, I'm not going to mention it in this comparison' but I'm quite sure that was missing from Avondale. Long story short, I only called another dealer because I wanted a different color car for the same price and Avondale said that wasn't possible. San Tan Hyundai got me a car with at least $250 worth of more options for $504 less. This scenario is apples to apples. The only variable was that I got a $130 registration credit from the plates on my old car which I have figured is a savings of $1.80/month. So to be fair, San Tan Hyundai saved me $374 over 72 months with $250 more options for a total price swing of $624. I think it was worth a drive across town to save $624. I spoke with the GM at Avondale Hyundai about this after I purchased the car from San Tan. His name is Robert Staup. Although he seemed concerned he said quote "Through the Costco program, we offer a fair price, not the best price" He spoke with me for about 5 minutes then cut me short and had to go. I spoke with a representative from the Costco auto buying program and a lady confirmed the same thing. Through Costco it is "a fair price, not the best price." JR may not have been lying to me but why didn't he get me the car with more features, in the color I wanted for a lesser price like San Tan Hyundai did? Zero customer service. He was a nice guy, a very likable guy but a combination of Billy Mays and Don Lapre (look Don Lapre up on Google if you don't know who I'm talking about.) Bottom line: Do not go to Avondale Hyundai if you want the "best price." Do not go through the Costco Auto buying program if you want the "best price" Go to San Tan Hyundai and ask for Kirk Patten. He helped me save a ton of money for a better car without having to haggle over price with him. I would have paid the price Avondale offered me for less features if it was the right color. Fortunately for me, JR wasn't helpful enough to get me the right color so I called another dealer to see if he was telling me the truth and found the car in the right color with more options for less money. My wife and I were looking for a Genesis coupe for her and after checking inventories on the Internet Avondale Hyundai had the best selection of vehicles in stock. We arrived at the dealer about 4 pm on a and after checking inventories on the Internet Avondale Hyundai had the best selection of vehicles in stock. We arrived at the dealer about 4 pm on a Sunday and were greeted by Ron Hodges as we walked the lot. They were having a good sale and we found a coupe with what we were looking for. Ron took us for a test drive and that was all we needed to know we wanted this car. As others have mentioned Ron is a no pressure salesman he listened to us and helped us find what we wanted and no more. Jose Rodriguez took care of the financing and the deal was done before 6pm. I would recommend that you visit Avondale Hyundai if you are in the market for a Hyundai and you will have a very pleasant experience. I returned the following weekend to have my paint sealant applied and was told it would take at least two hours for this process. Shortly after I arrived I was sitting in the waiting area and Sam Ayala approached me and ask how I liked my new vehicle. I told him what I was there for during our conversation and to my surprise after about an hour and fifteen minutes my car was ready. He approached me again and I told him I was surprised my car was already finished and he told me he went to the shop and put a second man on my vehicle so I wouldn't have to wait as long. I was at the dealer about 3 months later getting my first oil change and Sam saw me and again asked how I liked my coupe. I had very little interaction with Sam the day I purchased the vehicle and it amazes me that he remembers what I had purchased months before. The service department is top notch also, I dealt with Jennifer Snyder when I was there and they expected my vehicle to take over an hour for the service and wash. It took less than 40 minutes and I was leaving. I have purchased Acura, Infinity and Lexus in the past and the only place I was treated like this was at Bell Lexus but you would expect that. If you are looking for a Hyundai dealer that compares to Lexus you need to visit Avondale Hyundai. More
I went on line to look for a used or new vehicle. I ended up calling Avondale Hyundai regarding a vehicle I was interested in. My first contact was Ron Hodges. He was pleasant, but not overly aggress ended up calling Avondale Hyundai regarding a vehicle I was interested in. My first contact was Ron Hodges. He was pleasant, but not overly aggressive like the "typical" car salesman. I was able to set an appointment with him. Once I was at the dealership he was very personable and easy to talk with. He let me test drive the car and let me ask questions regarding the vehicle. Once I decided on the car, which was that day, he went over paperwork with my husband and I. He treated us very kindly and professionally, but I always felt he was honest and sincere with the questions we asked. He made us feel "at home" even while we were buying a car! Once it was time for the financing we were escorted into Jose Rodriquez's office. He also was very professional and kind and answered all our questions. He enable us to find a loan and helped us work out a way to pay off the car in a timely manner and build our credit. We had an enjoyable experience buying a car, which I don't think many people can say! Never did we feel pressured. We were able to drive away on the same day with our new car! Thank you Ron and Jose for a great experience at your Hyundai dealership. We will definately refer others in our family as well as friends to your dealership. More

All the employees This was the first new car that my wife and I purchased in our lives (both 63yoa) and we had nothing but a great experience. All the employees could not do enough for us. All were extremely knowlegeable and answered all our questions. I would recommed this dealership to all my friends and relatives. The price was great and I had no second thoughts about the price. There was no high pressure by my sales consultant Al Marshall. The finance manager, Jose Rodriquez, was extemely friendly and again answered all my questions. Randy Redd, the sales manager, even stayed late after most the employees had left to wash and detail my car and fill it with gas before I left the dealership. I had heard of horror stories from people purchasing new/used cars and the high pressure and sales tactics, but this was totally the opposite and I could not have asked for a better experience. My wife and I live near a closer Hyundai dealership, Larry Miller Hyundai on Bell Rd., but we found that it did not have a good rating online and decided to go to Avondale Hyundai which is alot farther away and I am glad we did.
