I recently took my car in for general maintenance for $1,500 and picked up my car, only to have the engine light come on as I got close to my house on the same day it was picked up. When I took my car b $1,500 and picked up my car, only to have the engine light come on as I got close to my house on the same day it was picked up. When I took my car back in, I was told that the timing belt needed to be replaced and that there had been damage to the engine from the timing belt. I was told that it would cost upward of up to $8,500 to repair. If I had just taken the car in for inspection and maintenance, how was this not caught? I have been taking my car to Dirito Bros. VW since I’ve owned it and I’ve never had such a disappointing experience. I’ve never had a problem paying for recommended service, and had the inspection been properly done, i would have gladly paid for the service. I would’nt need to be writing this disappointing survey, or be put in a position to have junk what was previously a good running 2012 vehicle with only 92K miles that had always been serviced (at your dealer) with no previous issues due to the new service to fix the vehicles repair exceeding its value More
