James is very patient, no pressure, and knowledgeable about the various cars I considered. Truly, I got the sense that he was there simply to make sure that I was happy with whichever choice I made that day. I really appreciated my experience in purchasing a car with him. Clearlake was quite busy the day we were there (Saturday), so it took a little while to get into finance. This, however, was no fault on the employees' fault. The manager would do well to see that there are more people working finance on the weekend. This minor fault included, Clearlake is definitely worth the drive! More

A New Car Experience - A1 My 2001 Mazda Millennia (owned since it was brand new) needed service and ultimately decided to trade it in. I contacted Mazda on line when I notice My 2001 Mazda Millennia (owned since it was brand new) needed service and ultimately decided to trade it in. I contacted Mazda on line when I noticed a Toyota Venza that was fully loaded and very low mileage. I emailed.Chris Danzell and he was as very knowledgeable and took care of any questions or concerns that I had. Later in the day, I went for a short test drive. That was not enough. Chris allowed me to do a one day test drive. The 24 hour test drive was very helpful and made my decision to purchase. Chris helped me with the purchase of the car and then filled my car up with gas and had it detailed for the final drive out. Patrick Monroe took care of the finance portion of the purchase. Patrick also made it very easy and I was out the door from purchase to drive out in 2 hours. He was also very knowledgeable and helpful. Finally, although I didn't meet Matt Baum, I will now bring the car in for service and will ask for Matt as my service writer going forward. He also was very professional and called me exactly when he said that he would. Thanks to Chris D, Patrick and Matt B. for your sales and service. I am truly thrilled with the car. More
They lie about pricing and tack on extra fees This is an edited review, I first gave this place 5 stars. The only good thing about this place is the sales person. This place will try and steal as much money away from you as possible when you finance. I got stuck paying $5,000 more than the agreed price. There are also hidden fees, or fees that they just outright lie to you about. My drive-out price was supposed to be $23,200, drive-out to me is a price that already includes tax and title. Looking at the paperwork now, including the warranty that I didn't even want I owe $17,700 before interest. Btw I put $10,000 down, so theoretically I am only supposed to owe around $13,200, the extended warranty was about $3,200, so what about the other extra fees? Guess what, it was tax, title, and other fees he never explained. Also they tacked on a extended warranty, the finance guy (Matt Kinard) never explained that this so called extended warranty was optional, in fact he never really explained anything. All he did was tell me what the warranty covered and never said this was a separate package, I thought it was the "Customer Assurance Package" that is included, It definitely was not. He just talked extremely fast and after just gave me paperwork to sign. Although I should have looked at it more closely and it is partly my fault, which is why I have been trying to cancel it. Problem is they've been making me go in circles and it's extremely annoying. Matt Kinard is the guy who did my paper work, when I realized what had happen I called 3 days later to try to cancel it. He says I have to wait for the paperwork to be mailed, I waited a week and not received it, I called again and he said I will get it in the mail. Another week and nothing, I called again and finally he tells me to come pick it up at the dealership, what happened to it being mailed? I go to the dealership and here he is showing me how to cancel, I look it over and seems simple enough, I go home and start filling it out, than suddenly I need a loan number. I call the bank and they say they haven't received the paperwork yet (it's been over 2 weeks), I call the dealer and the dealer says I have to call the bank. I tell them I have called the bank and they gave me more BS on how I have to wait for the paperwork and it takes a couple weeks (it has already been a couple weeks) so now I have no choice but to wait even though I wanted to cancel just 3 days after purchasing. So they have not even submitted it yet and all of this could have been avoided if we re-did the paperwork, it was just 3 days when I asked to cancel, I purchased the car Nov 8, today is Nov 19, and I have been trying to cancel since. Also when I looked at the paperwork there was a bunch of hidden fees that was not mentioned, car was supposed to cost 23,200 drive out, meaning tax and everything is included. Guess what, the loan added on tax and title and everything else. I put $10,000 down and should have been financed only $13,200, well after everything it I am financing $17,000, which is complete BS. Even after I cancel the warranty i would still be around $14,500. That is not drive out price, my fault for not paying closer attention, but I guess I was to trustworthy or naive. I was going to refer friends to the place but no more, they screwed me big time and I am not going to let them do the same to my friends. Mazda of Clear Lake, unfortunately for you, you have lost not just a former customer but a bunch of future customers also. Do not go to this place to buy a car, they will outright lie to you about the cost of the car and tack and other crap that you didn't know was a different package all together. They offer lifetime oil changes, but honestly every dealer except maybe 1 or 2 offered the same thing. Unfortunately for me I have to live with paying more than I wanted, but it was still partly my fault, so it is what it is. I just want to warn other people before they make the same mistake. If you look at other reviews I'm not the only one that screwed by their finance guys. More

I found the car I wanted online, received a quote, went to the dealer for a test drive and to my complete surprise, the quote price was the out the door purchase price. No dealer add-ons, no bull. And the price was better than what independent websites said people were paying. To top it off, we get a free one year tire hazard warranty and a 10yr/300,000 mile power train warranty if we take advantage of the free oil changes for life. More

Usually I take awhile to consider buying anything, but I have been to a few dealerships and because of the price offered and the helpfulness offered, I had no qualms buying the car and driving it home already. They even got my windows tinted within the next day and I'm now a proud owner of a Mazda3. I'm looking forward to sending my car there for service maintenance and meeting the friendly people over there. Overall, great job ! More
