If you are looking for a used Honda veichle do not even pull in there lot. I believe this dealership works the bait and switch. I I was sold a used 2008 Honda Pilot EXL certified truck that has problems. I should have known when dealing with used car department that it took two weeks or more for the vehicle to be certifed and needed "some" paint work. Go with your gut, if you have reservations at all, walk away. I didn't because these guys will put on one heck of show; making you feel like everything is kosher. Since Ive had the vehicle for about tow weeks, the service engine light is on, the back tires are cupped and worn so unevenly its rediculous, and the interior of the vehicle was never detailed, I pulled some nasty nasty out of there. I heard some rattling around in the back tailgate and soon discovered broken glass pieces falling out of the cracks. The back window was broken at some point. I am really unhappy with the car as I suspect rear end damage or an accident the most likely they fixed and sold before hit the car fax. I have called and called/emailed the dealership used car GM, dealership GM and even Criswell VP to have these problems fixed and have heard nothing back. So I have gone Honda themselves and they are trying to see what they can do for me but suggested I contact the BBB. These people are in the business of buying & selling cars. Im quessing by their lack of responsivness they know something is wrong with this vehicle. The talk a great line about superior customer service but it's all talk, no action. In hindsight, despite the clean Carfax at the time, I had a gut feeling something was wrong with the car, but it was under warranty and that helped ease my anxiety. BIG MISTAKE, listen to your gut feeling and do not trust Carfax completely and do not trust this dealership!! More
I originally went to another dealer to purchase a 2012 accord. Suvin Viswanathan from Criswell Honda in Germantown called along with his manager Walter and offered me 550 less on the vehicle I was intere accord. Suvin Viswanathan from Criswell Honda in Germantown called along with his manager Walter and offered me 550 less on the vehicle I was interested in. I explained that I wanted a 2 door and Walter promised he had the vehicle which would be cleaned up and ready to go when i got there. As I arrived not only did I not see the car but Suvin only had a sedan model and not a coupe. I wasted 3 hours of my time after being promised the deal over the phone and I also told specifically that I wanted a 2 door over the phone. Before I knew that they didnt have the correct model, I felt as if I was sitting in a factory and that I was not given the proper customer service (especially since another dealer who was very friendly and had already given me an excellent deal) and they really didnt care that I drove out of my way to spend 30000 dollars. Suvin was too busy worrying about other customers like it was a race to see how many cars he could sell in an hour. I ended up going to the original dealer who gave me an excellent price and trade in value. The other dealer was alot more personable and took the time to explain everything to me. In the past two weeks I purchased 2 cars from the other dealer (my accord and a pilot for my wife) and will never go to Criswell again. Criswell kept bragging about how many cars they were selling at the time. I really dont care how many cars a dealer can sell but rather the customer service one can provide. I would like to also mention that I have owned and purchased over a dozen Hondas in the past and never have a problem giving repeat business to a dealer who takes the time to treat me as a customer and not a number. Suvin made me feel like a number and didnt care at all for my business. Never judge a book by its cover! More
They promised the price and wouldn't keep their proimse. They just wasted the customer time since they don't care their reputation. Do not contact them anymore. They just wasted the customer time since they don't care their reputation. Do not contact them anymore. More
Phil quoted us a price for a new odyssey. When we got there, the car was there, but the terms changed - he totally baited us in with no intention of honoring the price. We ended up walking out. they want there, the car was there, but the terms changed - he totally baited us in with no intention of honoring the price. We ended up walking out. they wanted to give us $2000 less for a trade - after walking out we drove up the road to the Toyota dealership and got an appraisal for $2000 more. Take your business elsewhere. These guys are crooks. They will waste your time. We wentbto Westminster Honda, got the pricebwe wanted with stellar customer service, no jerking around, etc. We love our new car and are glad we did not give these crooks our business. More
I went in for an oil change and to have a buzzing sound in my engine checked out. When I called and explained the noise to a technician he told me it was probably something minor and they would take a loo in my engine checked out. When I called and explained the noise to a technician he told me it was probably something minor and they would take a look for me. Well I brought my car in and met Stacy, a service manager, who told me they would take a look at the car and it would be $126 that would go toward the cost of fixing whatever the problem was. Naively I agreed since I was told it was something minor based on the symptoms that were given to them. Later I got a call saying they needed to replace an exhaust pipe and it would be $783 to fix. I was floored how can a minor problem end up costing me $783? so I did some investigating online and discovered the issue with my car had been described in a Honda service bulletin. The solution to the issue was to replace a rubber ring that held the exhaust pipe to the chassis. I felt like they were trying to use the initial $126 fee to leverage me into a costly repair that I didn't need. When I showed Stacy a copy of the bulletin she agreed with me that was the problem but still insisted the whole assembly needed to be replaced because in her words "it's one one big piece" even though the service bulletin clearly stated just the rubber piece needed to be replaced. First of all, $126 is way too much to charge to diagnose a problem. I discovered during me search $50-75 is "normal" What they charge me was robbery. When I asked Stacy why it was so much she told me it was to pay for the technician to drive my car and pay for shop supplies. I asked what shop supplies? At that point she started getting agitated and walked me to the cashier. This is the first time I have ever been charged to look at a car problem and I felt cheated and swindled. What they did to me is obviously from my point of view a bait and switch. My advice to anyone thinking of going to Criswell is to find yourself a reputable dealer or better yet a trustworthy mechanic and stay clear of this place. Update: I also did a check the to cost of a replacement exhaust pipe. Stacy quoted me $630 for the pipe and $150 for the labor. When I checked with other dealerships the Retail Price for the pipe was $420 and it's possible to get it for less. More
Be afraid! Be very afraid and run, run as fast as you can!!! I was sold a used 2008 low mileage Honda Accord EXL that had major front-end damage that did not show up on Carfax because it had happened jus can!!! I was sold a used 2008 low mileage Honda Accord EXL that had major front-end damage that did not show up on Carfax because it had happened just before the sale! I had the car for approx two years before recently trading it in at another dealership, at which time the dealer informed me that Carfax revealed a major accident with extensive front end damage where the car was inoperable just months before I bought it! Needless to say, this info reduced the price of the trade-in. We were never really happy with the car as we suspected front end damage shortly after we bought the car. The A/C worked great except at idle. I took it back for repair and they simply recharged the system, but the problem remained. I discovered that the fan was not working, took it back and asked them to replace the fan, which they did. However, the A/C still did not cool at idle. Their service department was seriously lacking in diagnosing the problem. I took it to another dealer and they told me there was a crimped a/c line due to an accident (not covered under warranty). That was my first clue. The car also had a slight vibration that, despite all attempts at repair, we could not correct. The steering wheel also vibrated when the brakes were applied. I began to suspect front end damage and called/emailed the dealership. They were very customer service friendly over the phone but that was it! They never responded back to me. I would then call back, get the 'great' customer service speech and then nothing!! These people are in the business of buying & selling cars. They had to have known that this car was a repaired wreck!! It just happened within two months before the sale. The talk a great line about superior customer service but it's all talk, no action. I was talking to this guy called Suvin at Criswell. He was rude while discussing the car price. I think he was assuming that I will buy a car as soon as he gives me a quote without even discussing what's was rude while discussing the car price. I think he was assuming that I will buy a car as soon as he gives me a quote without even discussing what's included and what's not. And he thinks that he is smarter than the customer and tries to show his smartness by asking silly questions about the color etc. I do not know if the whole dealership is like this but certainly I had a bad experience. He was easily accessible via email and quickly responded to my many questions regarding the vehicle. I also worked with Jessica in the finance department. She explained the many options available and worked with us to purchase a Honda Care extended warranty. With regard to the facilities, I was very impressed by the large window overlooking the service bay and the large number of service department employees. Overall, I was very happy with the experience because we were able to get the exact vehicle my wife wanted in her favorite color and at a fair price. More
We went to Criswell Honda to purchase a Honda Civic in March, 2011. While we were in the process of deciding where to purchase from, we emailed some 14 dealers within the state of Maryland, and Criswell ( March, 2011. While we were in the process of deciding where to purchase from, we emailed some 14 dealers within the state of Maryland, and Criswell (Steve McClay - Criswell Internet Sales Manager) gave us the absolute lowest quote, by a large margin. Steve also provided prompt responses and did not hesitate to provide us with written information about the quote and what it covered. Although the price appeared way too good to be true, we decided pursue it, with the full expectation of being 'bullied' or having the price suddenly changed on us through the addition of add-ons, finance charges and warranties. Basically, we thought the price was designed to bring us into the showroom before the typical slimy car salesperson tricks are sprung on us. We went in ready to walk out if they had played any games. However, this did not happen at all. When we arrived at Criswell, Mark was our assigned salesperson. We were pleasantly surprised by the friendly and accommodating service he provided. Not once did he try to renege on the original quote or pressure us into purchasing upgrades or other services we had clearly expressed no interest in. We really appreciated this type of salesmanship. We were able to tell Mark exactly what we wanted, how we wanted to pay, and he willingly assisted with this. Amazingly, the finance office did not try anything either, especially since we were paying 'cash' for the car. We were able to sign the papers, get out the door and drive off with the car and the deal we wanted with no hassle whatsoever. We'll definitely be back the next time we need another car. Thanks Criswell!!! More
I knew that the sales person was going to be different -- in a positive way -- when he did not bombard me with phone calls upon receiving my referral from the Costco Auto Program. We spoke on the phone, he in a positive way -- when he did not bombard me with phone calls upon receiving my referral from the Costco Auto Program. We spoke on the phone, he answered all our questions and helped us settle on the car that would best meet our needs of transporting our triplets. We then went to the dealership, completed the test drive of the vehicle [Honda Odyssey] and completed the purchase. Dominique Vattuone has also gone beyond the call of duty to ensure that we are satisfied with the purchase. More
