We purchased a 2011 A4 December of 2010 beacause you did not have any Q5's.This was our second A4 but our first dealings with your dealership. We were very pleased with that purchase, so when we decided we not have any Q5's.This was our second A4 but our first dealings with your dealership. We were very pleased with that purchase, so when we decided we really wanted the Q5, in October 2011, we came back. The personal attention we received was fantastic. Both Tim and Greg went out of their way to be certain we were pleased with the purchase process. We can not say enough for the professional way we we handled. We had many choices of dealerships, but Criswell Audi was far and above the other dealerships I might add that we were very pleased with the numbers on the new car and what we received on our trade in. Sincerely, Richard & Neena Rodgers Deltaville,Va. More
Service is always excellent, but Ray Johns is the best service advisor a company could have. Criswell Audi in Annapolis had been my Audi store since 1998. I've always had top-notch sales and service from Criswell - they're the creme de la creme, in my opinion, so there's no need to say more. I purchased my first Audi (an A5) from Criswell Audi. I have always been a BMW guy and thought I would give Audi a try. I am so glad I did! I have never had a more pleasant car purchasing experience. My wife and I were tremendously impressed with our initial visit where we met w/ Dwayne and test drove an A3 Tdi. We had done some research beforehand and were at the point where, if we liked the car initial visit where we met w/ Dwayne and test drove an A3 Tdi. We had done some research beforehand and were at the point where, if we liked the car, we were ready to purchase. Because Dwayne was exceptionally knowledgeable and used a low-pressure approach, we felt very comfortable purchasing that same day. Unfortunately, the car we wanted was not available anywhere on the East Coast (A3 TDI w/ Premium Plus package, cold weather package, and no sunroof). Dwayne worked with us to special order the car, and matched the price that we would have been able to get through the USAA buying service--all very good so far. The delay to receive the car was extensive, but I understand that was beyond your control. We ordered the car the week of 10 Jun, and finally picked it up on 22 October. Dwayne did provide a couple of status updates as to how the production and shipping of the car was coming. Once the car was delivered to the U.S., there was some frustration/confusion as to when it would actually be delivered to the dealership. In the course of conversations, it was first identified as being ready, "the week of 17 October," then, briefly, "On 17 October." The car finally arrived at the dealership on Friday 21 October. Negotiation of the final price was disappointing to me--although there were some parts where Criswell did very well. The situation was made somewhat more complicated by the fact that I am active duty military, and thus a Florida resident, living in Virginia, and buying the car in Maryland. I am registering the car in Florida, which is one of the things I need to do to maintain my Florida residency. The first "final" price I was quoted included over $600 in processing and titling fees for services that would cost--according to the information publicly available on the Florida DMV website--$155. I understand the need for some mark-up, but $450 of pure mark-up left me feeling as if the dealership was trying to make money back on unnecessary fees for the good sale price they had offered on the car. That was disappointing and out of character with the initial impression my wife and I had of the dealership. Several of the answers I received in the course of the subsequent negotiations about those fees struck me as unusual: at one point, either Dwayne of one of the business managers stated that if they did not charge me the $200 MD processing fee (when the only portion of the transaction that is occurring in Maryland is the issuance of a temporary plate), that they would be subject to scrutiny or audit by tax officials. That seems transparently false when MD state law mandates that the fee be accompanied by the words "this fee not required by law" on the window sticker. At the end of the day, I was contacted by one of Dwayne's managers (whose name unfortunately escapes me), who offered to lower the price of the vehicle enough to offset the additional fees, resulting in a net price of what I had expected to pay when I initially ordered the car. That was a fair and good conclusion, but I was left with the feeling that I needed to be on my guard to reach that conclusion. Had I not challenged the fees, asked questions, and done research as to the actual price for the services in question, I don't think we would have gotten there. to me, that's the difference between an "OK" and a "Great" rating, both on price and customer service. When we went to pick up the car, the pre-delivery checks were not complete yet, although we had scheduled a time to come pick it up. Also, they did not complete the pre-delivery entry in the warranty booklet. The registration process has likewise been a bit disappointing: Two weeks after I had completed all the paperwork at pick-up, I was contacted and asked for additional paperwork. Two of the pieces of paperwork didn't make sense to me, since I know that the state of Florida does not require them. I asked why they were needed, and heard nothing for 10 days. At the same time, I forwarded the packet from the Florida DMV website, to see if that would help. After hearing nothing for 10 days, I contacted David to confirm if he had everything he needed and was told that the packet I had forwarded included many forms for which they didn't have appropriate power of attorney. So, now they are forwarding the packet to me for additional signatures. All of which means that 25 days in to the 60 day temporary plate, they have not even contacted the state of Florida to start the paperwork for the tags. Hopefully, all will come through in a timely manner, but again--not the level of customer service I would expect from a luxury car dealership. This accounts for the "OK" in quality of service (I've done most of the legwork on this registration myself) and, when combined with the price issue, in overall satisfaction. I love the car, and still feel that I got a good price at the end of the day, but I do have a little bit of a sense that Criswell almost "snatched defeat from the jaws of victory" by trying to add "hidden" fees to the final price, and by not following up diligently on the registration piece. We went into Criswell looking for a commuter car for my husband. As soon as we entered we were greeted by Joe Ruppert and he took care of us from there on after, along with the Sales Manager Alan Hannon. Not only were they extremely helpful with our car search, the entire staff was super friendly with our family as well. We were shopping with our infant and even came back with all four of our children at one point and everyone in the dealership made sure they were all happy ! Alan and Joe were very patient with us as well, we felt no pressure to choose one car over the other as we were looking at an Audi and a BMW. Their were both extremely knowledgable of both the cars too. The detail staff did an excellent job on cleaning up the car we ultimately purchased. The only thing we would have expected and didnt receive was a full tank of gas, they only filled up half the tank. Otherwise, this was an excellent car buying experience and we will definitely be sending in some referrals ! More
Honestly, I hate most car dealerships, recent bad experiences at Sheehy for a Nissan confirm this. However my experience at Criswell has always been a very positive one. Ray is always very helpfu experiences at Sheehy for a Nissan confirm this. However my experience at Criswell has always been a very positive one. Ray is always very helpful and friendly, the repairs when required appear to be legitimate, something I don't always find with other dealership service departments. In short, although I don't generally take my car to the dealer for service unless absolutely necessary, I am very pleased with the experience I have with Criswell. I am now driving my 2nd Audi in part because I'm happy with the service I receive. Thank you. More
My wife and I were potentially looking for a new / used suv for her as we were approaching the winter months. Interested in quality, comfort, ride, visibility and price, we test drove both the Ford Edge at suv for her as we were approaching the winter months. Interested in quality, comfort, ride, visibility and price, we test drove both the Ford Edge at another dealer and the Audi Q5 at Criswell. As far as the vehicle, for a Premium Plus (almost fully loaded), you could get the Audi Q5 for about the same price as a fully loaded Ford Edge. The design, style and ride was incomparable. In the Ford, you could hear and feel a lot of the road noise. On the other hand, in the Q5, the interior was just impressive with all of the thought gone into everything, from the arm rest sliding forward depending on the seat position to the full piece sun roof to the power and handling of the vehicle. We were very impressed with the Audi. Upon entry to the Criswell dealership, we were not bombarded with sales people. Instead, their team gave my wife and I space to peruse and allowed us to be drawn to them. Instead of having to be pushy and sell the cars, Audi allows the cars to sell themselves. Alan worked with us on everything and was very straight forward on design, prices, future cost in terms of maintenance of the vehicle. We had a superior visit and cannot compliment the Criswell team enough on their professionalism and customer relations. Great Experience! Thanks guys! More
