Tim has helped me both times and did a great job helping me find the car that I wanted. Both cars that I purchased were located at a different lot some 20 to 30 miles away. Tim went up and drove the first car back, himself. He arranged the transport of the second vehicle. Tim was very helpful and not an aggressive, pushy salesman. When we are ready for another car, I will contact Tim before anyone else. More

He only provided information on the cars without trying to argue with us or convince us to buy a car. He also worked hard to get cars from other locations as quickly as possible over to Coralville. The selection of cars is imoresssive and we got a nice deal on the car we wanted. That car needed two minor repairs and a front windscreen treatment, which were all done rapidly and thoroughly.. Luke even got us a manual for the car! More
Tim Figge great to work with, and cars brought to me Bought two cars from this dealership and this salesman within 3 months. One great benefit to McGrath is, on both of the cars I bought, they drove them all the way from Dubuque to Coralville for me to look at. I work close to the Coralville lot, and far from Dubuque, but when I saw a car online that interested me they drove it to Coralville for me to look at the next day. They also drove one over from Cedar Rapids, though that one didn't pan out. The salesman Tim Figge is a great guy to work with. Natural, not putting on a salesman-show, just himself. Pointed out flaws in the cars when he saw them. Only gave this dealership four stars instead of five, because my first vehicle qualified for some of their extended warranty plans. The plans were ridiculously expensive, like the extended warranty plans you get offered by robocalls over the phone. And the presentation was quite long. The guy was nice enough, and had I said I was in a rush I'm sure he would have expedited things. But they kind of hide the cost by only talking about what your monthly increase would be ($30 more a month only...but that is times 60 months, say, so really you need to do the math to see that is actually an $1800 warranty plan). Aso, it wasn't even clear to me at the beginning that this wasn't a free warranty that McGrath provided with the car. Anyway, sure seems like someone elderly or just not paying attention could end up paying a lot of money more than what they expected or wanted. More
HORRIBLE!!! Do not purchase from McGrath! If I could give McGrath 0 stars I would. PLEASE READ THIS before choosing McGrath. PLEASE DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM MCGRATH. I first went in as an 18 y If I could give McGrath 0 stars I would. PLEASE READ THIS before choosing McGrath. PLEASE DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM MCGRATH. I first went in as an 18 year old looking to finance my first car. At first they seemed like they cared about what I wanted and what I could afford, and I ended up with a Jeep that I LOVED and for a fair price. I had a few issues with the Jeep, which I expected since it was an older vehicle. But I knew that Jeeps were reliable and that if I could get it to a good spot, it would get me at least through college. So, we did a few small jobs to get it fixed up. I also had a cracked radiator in it, which we got replaced with a brand new one. The car was running great. Until one day (a little less than 3 months after I drove the car off the lot) the engine in it died while I was driving on the highway. After getting it checked out to see how it happened, the mechanics found that there was TOO MUCH OIL in the car. I had not gotten an oil change since I got the car. NO ONE had touched the oil since I got the car. So I assumed that McGrath may have been to blame for this issue. NATURALLY, they claimed that they did not put too much oil in the car, and I was just stuck with a broken car through NO FAULT of my own. I was so upset, and turned back to McGrath to make things right and try to get me into a new vehicle. Luckily, they agreed to give me some trade in value for my dead Jeep. I had been looking at other options they had for vehicles and went in with some in mind. However, when I got there, they only let me look at ONE vehicle. ONLY ONE which was not even one that I had suggested. They would not even let me look at any of the vehicles I wanted to look at. They told me that NONE of the other vehicles would work for the "kind of deal they were giving me". The salesmen were rude to me and took full advantage of my age. I was very upset and it was a difficult decision for me to choose to get a more expensive car. I knew that my car payments would go up and being a full time college student (who is paying her own way through school) this was a very tough decision. Because of this, I was upset and wanted some guidance from my parents. The salesmen continually asked why I needed my parents. They were pressuring me and making judgements about me. One of the salesmen said "Oh, you're in college. You spend $50-$100 every weekend going out and partying, so why can't you just not do that and spend it on your car payment instead?" This was a completely inappropriate and not to mention FALSE accusation. The reason I wanted my parents there was for support and guidance. I was 19 at this time, this was NOT something I should have ever had to deal with, especially at such a young age. I did NOT know what to do. I needed help. I will forever be completely appalled with the way I was treated. So there I was, being forced into the ONLY car that they could provide me. They gave me no choice, and I needed a car for school and to be able to transport myself to my job which was the next town over (I could not afford to quit my job). My car payment then doubled, which later required me to get a second job while also being a FULL TIME student. Now, lets talk about the "only option" car that they ended up giving me. They failed to mention to me that the automatic door locks did not work, so I spent months with doors that did not lock. The car is horrifically loud. There is a chip in the windshield. My brakes are very squeaky. One of my side mirrors is broken. I had one of the metal protectors that was underneath the car completely fall off (meaning it wasn't secure). My tire sensors are either broken or not present, so my check tires light is constantly on (beeping at me every time I get in the car). IT WAS SOLD TO ME LIKE THIS!!!! They took advantage of my young age and now I am paying an extremely high amount of money for a car not worth even half of what I am paying!!! This "only option" that they sold me is NOT a good car, and it was way overpriced. After what I went through with my first car, they should have cared more about me and tried to get me into something that I wanted. So not only did they sell me a car that DIED (which ended up being "no ones" fault), but they then proceeded to sell me another crappy car. SHAME on McGrath. NEVER EVER purchase a vehicle here. They are rude, do not value what YOU want, and they take full advantage of you. They do not give full disclosure on their vehicles which is something they are LEGALLY REQUIRED to do. I wish I would have never purchased a vehicle here. My life would be a lot better if McGrath was not a part of it! More

Great I am a undergrad who at the time was struggling financially but really needed an affordable car to come to and from home. The sales consultant who too I am a undergrad who at the time was struggling financially but really needed an affordable car to come to and from home. The sales consultant who took care of me was Luke Wise and he did an excellent job in getting me a car that not only I could afford to pay monthly, but that was in great condition and that best suited me. I know that if I would have went to another dealership or maybe even had someone else as my sales consultant I wouldn't have walked out of that dealership with a car that was affordable for my situation. I highly recommend this dealership and I also suggest speaking with Luke Wise, but everyone there is friendly and is willing to help however they can. So even if you don't get a hold of Luke Wise, I still highly recommend this dealership. More
