I just left Clay Coolidge in Arlington. Alisha said I was pre-approved. Another gentleman showed the vehicle. I was told “you got the vehicle,” but i repeatedly asked about payments. Unprofessional I contacted them looking for a used car. When I arrived they put me in a 2019 Mirage which they said was the only car I could get financed. I put 1500 I contacted them looking for a used car. When I arrived they put me in a 2019 Mirage which they said was the only car I could get financed. I put 1500 down and drove the car for a week. I then get a call telling me I have to come back to the dealership asap and re-sign the loan. So I find out that the bank is not going to approve the loan after all and I have to give the car back. When they called me they offered me a discount and I asked I told them that I was approved by USAA. The offered me a $500.00 discount. They asked me to please do a test drive and they said there would be no BS. But I had to go to he dealer. I asked if there were additinal chargers other than sales taxes and the usual $150.00 documents fee. They said no. After driving 45 mins and paying for tolls, I did my test drives and I decided to buy the car. We went inside the office and the salesman brought a final price of almost $13,000.00. When I asked a “sales manager” he said that they have to add $ 3,000.00 because they had to clean the car and ensure the car was in good condition. Additionally, he said because I was approved by USAA it was like buying cash and they had to increase the price because they get a percentage if they use their banks. SCAM! Avoid More

Was told to go home and get my stips. I got a call the next day said I needed to bring in the 2 thousand dollars and then they would find me a bank that would loan me the money. I told them I have bought more cars than you sell a month and you deliver the down payment to the finance department when it is time to do the deal. I have never gave my down payment up front. We were assisted by a representative, she was nice. However, when she told us we weren’t able to trade in our car because it was through the in house program, we told her we were told by multiple clay Cooley reps that were able to trade in within 12-15 months of having the vehicle if we made our payments. She told us she will talk to her boss and have him speak to us. So as I waited with my two children, my husband stepped outside to take a phone call. Five minutes passed and her boss storms ( didn’t get his name but his description: heavy set, bald, African American, Short) out of the office yelling in front of everyone in the building saying “if they don’t have $6,000-$7,000 they can’t trade in nothing!” And he stormed into another room and never acknowledged us at all. I have been a Customer of Clay Cooley Mitsubishi previously with negative results. In 2015 I purchased a brand new vehicle for my daughter thru clay Cooley Mitsubishi. A Short Time Later I received a call from Arlington Police informing me that my credit information had been compromised as it was found in the possession of an Employee of Clay Cooley. Fortunately, no negative action on my credit had resulted from this lack of security. Next My daughter has had multiple mechanical issues with her supposedly Brand New Vehicle to which the car has spent more time in the shop than she has had it. It was so bad that she took her vehicle to a Mitsubishi dealership in NY and they knew who clay Cooley were by name and reputation. Over the course of the next two years I had received numerous calls from Clay Cooley trying to convince me to purchase a Car. I refused to even consider it until I received a call from the Sales Rep named Avi. She contacted me on 9/6/17 and stated that they had the vehicle I was interested in and we scheduled for me to come in of Sat 9/9/17 to complete the process. I told her in advance that my credit was not positive but I did have TWO vehicles that were current on my credit. I also indicated that I did not want to waste time driving to Arlington if a deal could not be made. I sent Avi my vehicle information, Credit information, Pay stubs and insurance information. She informed me that a credit check had been pulled and that I was approved. She stated that they had IN HOUSE financing so either way I was approved. I get to the dealership as requested and the GAMES begin. My car was appraised and it showed that I have a negative Equity of 9K. I was already aware of this. Then I was told that I would need 8K Down plus be willing to Pay $670.00 for a car payment. I stated that this was unacceptable as I already drive a Lexus and would not pay an additional $200.00 per month just to drive a newer version of the exact same car. Then out comes the Finance Guy. Never told me his name. He asked me what I was willing to do. I told him that I would not pay that kind of money for a Lexus when I already had one. He said but my car was an old one. Then he asked if I had a cosigner. I informed him that I would use my cosigner to purchase a new car when I decide to that route. He asked what would I except and I agreed to remove my current car from the equation, I would pay the additional $200.00 per month but the Deposit needed to be $500.00. He said he would get back to me, I then left the Dealership. Never got a Return call from him or Avi at this point. I was the one to reach out the Dealership and was informed by Avi that I would need a cosigner. First “LETS BE CLEAR” I did not seek out Clay Cooley seeking to purchase a car “THEY CALLED ME”. Second THEY IMPLIED THAT I HAD A LOAN APPROVAL which was a lie but the whole thing was a waste of time and bait and switch in an effort to get me into the dealership. Clearly I was lied to and misled. There was no deal and or approval pre-done and this whole effort was solely to get me into the dealership. Then in the end I was told what I already KNEW that my car had Negative Equity and I might need a cosigner but this is NOT what was relayed prior to me coming to the dealership even though I sent the info ahead. I should have followed my first though and avoided Clay Cooley like the plague, they are deceptive and outright dishonest. They wasted my time and Cost me a mornings pay with their deceptive nonsense. Lastly I had just the day before had my car appraised at CARMAX where I brought it and got a higher appraisal value. IF YOU ARE SMART PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE AVAOID THESE GUYS. I have had nothing but bad experiences here. I will continue to buy from CARMAX as they seem to be quite a bit more honest in their process. Worst service ever! I was pre approved through application online. They called me told me to come check out the car once I get there they tried to put me in an 2012 ALTIM I was pre approved through application online. Saying the bank only approved me for a car in that range... so then I GAINED a co signer, approved me for the car I wanted but asked could I put 1500 more dollars down. I agreed....so once I get in the back with TERRY he tells me they were able to just put the car in my name no consigned was needed. Ok good! I drive off the lot with my new FORD FUSION TITANIUM ! Only for them to cal me almost two weeks later saying the bank didn't approve it n I needed to bring the car back! Then calls in tell me he will be able to lower the price on the car and he will keep me in that car only for me to get there n he said he couldnt do it n that the only thing he can do is put me in a MISHIBISHI! So I asked for refund he tells me I will get money back next day just for them to tell me I have to come back in bring my debit card I used!!! This place is FULL OF xxxx!!!! N I'll never refer anybody to this BUM as dealership!!! More

WORST SERVICE !!
