Would NOT recommend this dealer to anyone. They are concerned more with themselves instead of meeting their customers needs. The price that is advertised online is not the price that they are selling the vehicle for. It's a FAKE advertisement. Once you come in and sit down to talk about price, they add the transportation fee of about $750, price of doing the safety inspection (another $800-1000) and if the vehicle is certified, they will add another $1500-2000. So whatever the price is listed online, add another $3000-4000 to the price. And as for your trade in, they give you way below the KBB value. You are a victim with them. Once your transaction is completed, they ignore your needs and your calls. They will never follow up with anything. You will be the one calling them about everything. Their sales people lack knowledge. They don't show you anything with the vehicle and try to get you out of the door as fast as they can. So you leave with many questions unanswered. Their finance department is beyond bad. If you don't pay close attention, many errors will be made. You will be the one who is catching the errors instead of the person doing your paperwork. They don't explain anything of the paper/costs. Furthermore, they will give you higher interest rate even if you can get lower because according to the one that helped me and this is quoting him "We like to use certain financial institutions because we like to give them more business and in return Autobarn gets more business, especially those who don't have good credit history the bank will approve them." So in other words I was told I'll give you higher rate with this bank that we prefer so in future we get those approved that wouldn't otherwise. Really!?!?Wouldn't you want your buyer to get the best possible rate? Worst ever experience with buying vehicle and customer service is beyond bad. They need some extreme change in their organizational structure as well as their culture. More

Sales people do not return calls. They hide behind anonymous extensions. They advertise cars at lower prices than other dealerships, but they don't have in stock. I'd been shopping around for a good quality (gently) used car and was happy to find a certified option in Evanston on their website. We went in the next day. We explained our requirements and he showed us a few options. He was not pushy at all - served up the facts and pointed out some key features of the cars that were totally relevant to our needs. As we considered each option, he would point out the differences between them - which is really helpful. So the shopping portion was relatively painless and not overwhelming at all. On the test drive, Sam explained the functionality of everything. I've had many test drives, but never this thorough. By the time we returned, I really felt familiar with every button and switch in the car and felt I had better knowledge about how it works. We made a choice pending financing. The sticker price was very fair to begin with, so we started at a good place. There was some back and forth, but that's to be expected. In the end, we felt as if we got a good deal. My only gripe is that the detailing was not as good as it should have been. I didn't realize until I left that the wipers need to be replaced and the winshield wiper fluid was mixed with dirty water. For the amount that they charge for detailing, you would expect that the car would be pristine but it just wasn't. Not enough for me to call back and complain though. And Sam did check to make sure it was thorough, but I just noticed things later. All in all, it was an exceptional experience. I would definitely recommend that anyone looking for a used/certified VW check here first. Their inventory is extensive, the service is great and it was virtually hassle-free. More

After deciding on the Passat, they didn't have the color I wanted so they checked with other dealerships and located the one I selected. I then spoke with the sales manager Ryan, we went over what I would receive for my trade-in, which was a very fair price. He was informative and helped make my sale go smoothly. We came to an agreement on the price and then I was taken to Scott in finance who explained everything very carefully. The following day I returned to pick up my new car, they went over the entire car with me and again explained the various features. I was very pleased with my overall experience with the Autobarn and would definitely recommend them to family and friends. More
