I was informed by Charles Toyota that they had the vehicle I was looking for that included all my specifications: Red Corolla LE, Ash Interior, Premium Package and Preferred Accessory Package. I had been working with 2 other Toyota dealers in my area (Putnam County, NY) for over a week who had been unable to locate me the car I wanted with the correct colors, even though they both told me they could. The 0 % financing was ending on August 31st and we did not know if it would be extended. When Charles Toyota called and said they had the exact car I wanted on their lot ( They got my name from a requested quote online from Toyota's website with my car choices) and the price was great I put a deposit down and jumped on the deal. Charles Toyota is 110 miles from my home so I verified that all the specifications I wanted were correct. When I got there, it turned out that the interior was the wrong color (bisque instead of ash). I could have saved myself the drive and obtained that same car with those colors right here at home, instead of driving 2 hours for something I didn't want. Needless to say I was very disappointed and upset when I realized the interior color was incorrect. At first the salesman tried to say he didn't know that I wanted the ash interior. I said I told him so several times, recalling our phone conversations and that this was even recorded on their answering machine verifying my specification and to go and play the recording. The salesman, Mark Giumond then admitted his mistake on the interior color, apologized and was trying to work with me to make me happy with the car they had for me. A red corolla with ash trim simply wasn't available. Mark called over his manager (Dan) to help out with the problem. He (Dan) was rude, he insinuated I had not made it clear about the interior color, and this was somehow my fault. I told him to playback my message and listen to me say it for the 4th time. At that point he shut up and didn't pursue "making it my mistake" anymore. However, the manager Dan offered me nothing in terms of compensation for their error such as reducing the price of the car, giving me an exceptional trade-in value or throwing in some accessories (Cargo Net, Bumper guard: which were already to have been a part of the preferred accessory package I had already requested and was also told would be in the car, but didn't get.) He told me and I quote "I already am selling this car for my cost and I'm not going to lose another $50-$100 dollars on the car for accessories, take it the way it is or leave it!" He then tried to sell me a red Corolla S that had a dark charcoal sport interior for more money. This seemed like a bait and switch deal, where they told me they had what I wanted, I put down a deposit and then switched it when I got there to move the inventory they had. I traveled 2 hours to pick up a car I had made a deposit on, only to find out it was wrong when I got there. Mark. the salesman who originally helped me, did at least attempt to help correct the mistake and was kind to me. James the young, new sales associate working with Mark was also kind and helpful. The Sales manager (I think his name was Dan was absolutely horrible, I give him a zero rating, and feel that I was completely deceived by him - this is a bad reflection on Toyota. I have owned Toyota's for 20 years, I have a 1991 Tercel and a 1997 Corolla and during this whole new car shopping experience; not just with Charles Toyota, Norwich CT, but also with Greentree Toyota, Danbury CT and Toyota North, MT. Kisco NY, I feel I have been strung along, deceived, misled, misrepresented, given broken promises and lied to. I have never had this experience before. I love my Toyota cars, I love my new car, but I am extremely disappointed with the sales people and their professionalism or lack there of. Also, there is a problem with the new car that I just bought. The front passenger window when it is rolled down clangs around in the door. I brought this to the dealer's attention. Charles Toyota was unable to fix it before I left because their service department was gone for the holiday weekend. I will now have to take the car in for service to another dealer closer to home before I even get a chance to enjoy it. In the end, I purchased the car, even though the sales manager was a deceptive, lying, unprofessional man who made no attempt to correct his mistake with the interior color and missing accessories and satisfy a customer who was paying a great deal of money for a new car. Also the 0% financing was about to end, and the likelihood that any dealer was going to be able to realistically locate a car with my colors choices and packages was null to void. More
I had been to many dealerships in the area and by far this was the best as far as customer service and helping me with my needs. I am extremely happy with my desision to go to Charles Toyota. It was a pleasure dealing with Dan Bilicki at Charles Toyota. I live in Virginia, and was helping my daughter buy a car in CT. I experienced no "hard sell" - in fact, his clear, straight forward approach was a breath of fresh air, compared to other dealers I have worked with. When my wife and daughter came by to pick up the car, everything was as promised and they completed the transaction in 45 minutes. I would not hesitate to recommend Dan and the folks at Charles Toyota to any prospective customer. More

I purchased a used 2004 Subaru Forester...I had it for two days and it started to shift "funny" and the transmission light came on. I brought it back to Charles Toyota and they were very friendly and helpful. They took it back, sent it to a Subaru dealer and gave me a loaner while the Subaru was being looked at. It was determined that the Subaru needed a sensor. Charles Toyota took care of everything for me. Felt I was pressured into a purchase that was installed on the truck that was already on the truck and could not be removed. After market was way cheaper than what I was charged. I was told about add ons after I got to the dealership I should of been told about them on the phone before I came in. Also there where 2 items on the bill of sales that was never explained to me. Some kind of etching service. Overall felt it was like them against me to purchase the truck their way. More
