Rick was knowledgeable about what was on the lot. We actually ended up with a car that was in Richmond. They brought it down for us to check out and it was exactly what we were looking for. Though we had used Carmax twice before with good experiences, this time was a disappointment. We had our car shipped from out of town and it was several weeks late. This information- and the reason why it was late- was not communicated to us. My husband and I both called the dealership multiple times trying to reach someone who could tell us what was going on. While we were waiting for our car, our old car was supposed to be towed. Carmax scheduled the tow and the buying price and then on the day, actually the exact TIME it was to be towed, they called and said they can't tow it. No real explanation why they didn't tell us that before, just, "Sorry, we're not coming." When I finally did talk to customer service, they were very nice and helpful, but even they had trouble reaching the dealership with the status of our new car. A MONTH after the car was supposed to be there, Carmax said our car was ready. We made an appointment for 7:30 pm and showed up on time. We were told they were short-staffed and we waited at least 45 minutes before being seen. While we were waiting, I checked out the car that was reserved for us. It had coffee splash stains on both interior side doors, trash inside, and didn't smell clean. The rear seats would not fold (it was a van). When we met with someone (an hour+ after our appointment) I asked about a different car and we ended up buying that one, not the one that we reserved. The representative that helped us was really nice, helpful and professional, which is why I did not complain to her on the spot. I also at this point, just really needed a car as I'd been without one for a month. I did not leave Carmax that evening until about 10:40 pm. After having the car for 3 weeks, it started making random beeping noises. We called to schedule service and again could not get a hold of anyone for a couple days. Based on this experience, I have serious reservations about using Carmax again. More
CarMax overall is a great way to get a deal on a vehicle. There is a large enough team to accommodate the rush of people that come in, and all are professional. Warranty is unmatched anywhere for a used car (if purchased). And if you sell the car, CarMax will give the warranty money back to the customer! -seriously…. No reason to get a car from anywhere else. Thank you to the team! Scott, Mikey, the entire business office and the mechanics shop. You guys rock and is the reason I’ll always recommend CarMax. Oh! And got top bluebook for my trade! More

Third vehicle that we have bought from this CarMax store. The Expedition and the F250 we elected to ship both came in with damage which isn’t on this location, however communicating what was going on and why The Expedition and the F250 we elected to ship both came in with damage which isn’t on this location, however communicating what was going on and why they weren’t available to see and test drive on the date promised is frustrating. We still completed the purchase of the Expedition but passed on the F250 we had shipped. We were reimbursed for the cost of shipping on both vehicles. That’s the bad, the good, lots of vehicles on the lot to browses through to make a good choice that fit us. Price being posted and straightforward with the out the door cost. 2 out of 3 vehicles we were from yes to driving away in less than 2 hours, not sure what happened with the truck. We are completely stocking vehicles now but would recommend to anyone looking for a vehicle, just don’t ship it. More
