The extra mile My goal was to downsize from the Legacy to the Impreza. I wanted a smaller vehicle. I went to a dealer near my home. I worked with the sales person who was OK, but wasn't sure he could find a 'red' vehicle for me, though he implied that they would look. I put money down. The day after he called to say they had located 2 silver Imprezas, my second choice. I didn't hear back from him. I then went on line to do my own search. Two days later the general manager at this dealership called. He wanted to discourage me from going elsewhere. I told him that the salesman never got back to me. I told him I was going to try another dealership. He asked me to call and let him know what the other one was offering, implying that he might cut me a deal. After going on the internet the sales person at CapitaLand, Marco, called me three times to try and connect with me. I went in, and he went to work. He told me we could order the car I wanted, an option not presented at the other place. I was bent on getting the red car. Meanwhile I still had heard nothing from the original dealership. Long story short, the team at CapitaLand went out of their territory to find the car I wanted. They did, and two days later I had the car I wanted! The other salesperson at the other dealership. He told me that if they could not locate the car I wanted nobody could. Wrong thing to say to me. I left messages for the sales manager and the general manager to call me because I wanted my down payment back. Neither returned my several calls. When my car at Capitaland arrived I picked it up, and thanked Marco and the team for getting it done. Two days later I arrived at the other dealership in person to ask for my money back. I insisted on doing this with the general manager, who was not apologetic. I got my money back, and had a great deal of pleasure in driving away in my new red Impreza right in front of them. More
