I bought my 2024 Subaru Impreza in July and recently hit 6K miles, prompting me to seek my first oil change, tire rotation, and a safety recall fix. After checking with various local Subaru dealerships, including Goldstein, Mackey, North Country, and finally Capitaland, I chose Capitaland due to a friendly and competitive service from Barry. I scheduled, dropped off the car, promised a 1.5-hour service and received a prompt call for pickup. Upon returning, I found the car ready but was disappointed to discover grease/oil stains on the driver's seat, oil/grease/dirt and scuff marks on the door sill, oil/grease/dirt on my new Weather Tech floor liner, and fingerprints on the windshield where the service reminder sticker was placed. Despite always keeping my car well-maintained, I had to address these issues with Darrel and Tony from the service desk. Although the problems were promptly resolved and I received an apology, the experience left me disappointed and frustrated. Vehicles are very expensive and when we place them into the hands of a dealership, a certain level of trust is granted. We customers expect that our investment will be respected and cared for with the utmost attention to detail. To add insult to injury. This morning, I noted oil/grease residue on the beige headliner of the driver side grab bar area and so I got to spend an hour of fun on my day off, cleaning up the grease. The service department is the heart of a dealership; the brand as a whole. Service is an opportunity for dealerships to highlight their strengths, technical skills/knowledge, attention to detail and respect for the product and their customers. Such experiences do have a negative impact on future purchasing decisions and it's unacceptable for people to spend money and have their vehicle disrespected. - Reusable/Washable Seat covers? - Paper floor liners? - Watch for placement of boots and hands? Is anyone in the service department performing a once over of a customer's vehicle to ensure everything is acceptable before the customer signs paperwork, pays for service and drives off? Overall, this was not a good experience and I'm hopeful this service department can do better in the future. If so, I will update my review to reflect the experience. More
While I love my Outback, I am disappointed by the service department at Capitaland Motors Subaru. My car was purchased in 2020 and I have yet to be able to get it in for a service appointment, I am either to department at Capitaland Motors Subaru. My car was purchased in 2020 and I have yet to be able to get it in for a service appointment, I am either told that they have no space/availability, or, like today, I was told that my appointment was in the book for another day/time. I had received a confirmation email from Subaru and showed it to the folks in Service, but they claimed that did not matter and that they could do nothing for me. My check engine light is on, which is concerning, but I was told not to worry and that I could come in on a Saturday two+ weeks from now. This is not the way to run a business. More

This dealership takes the cake as having the worst customer service of any business I have ever been to. They held my car for four days (after confirming a same day service appointment), and I didn't get upset until day 4. Jordan was the intake person; she was fine until things started to go south and then there was no apology, no concession - just attitude. I asked for the owner's information and they "didn't" have a phone number and said he doesn't use email. Bob May is the service manager and once the call got to him he didn't apologize once for having my car for three extra days and having done nothing to it (other than possibly giving it back to me in worse condition than I dropped it off - I have real integrity concerns about this dealership). He actually laughed when I said I had dropped it off for same day service - which is something they had promised when I first made the appointment. Then he told me they wouldn't bother servicing my car at all. Again, I didn't even get upset until day 4. They didn't just lose the business of the actual service I requested, they lost the $2000 check I was about to write to their sales department for an extended warranty. And when I say "they" I mean Bob and Jordan lost the business. Mainly Bob, because as the manager, he should have remedied the situation. I also have two employees that recently moved to the area with Subarus, and they were horrified by my experience and will also be avoiding this dealership. I took a couple days to cool down, and then I called Subaru corporate who made this right for me. Thinking about this experience disgusts me every time, so I took more time before sitting down and writing this review. I had considered purchasing a Subaru for about five years before I finally did, and this dealership really made me regret it. In all sincerity to anyone that reads this, I have serious concerns about the integrity of the staff at this dealership and would never trust another vehicle under their care. Please go elsewhere or be prepared to get ripped off, lied to and insulted if you have any problem whatsoever. More
I had service done at Capitaland Subaru a couple of days ago. The service was amazing! Although they were very busy, they managed to repair my car that very day! I called them in the morning and my car was ready in the afternoon. I want to especially thank Brian for his outstanding efforts. The service department not only took care of the initial problem, they also went through the car and did other minor repairs. This was all done at a very reasonable price. I can't thank Capitaland Subaru enough! I strongly recommend this dealership. My experience here was extremely positive! More

I left multiple voice mails but my calls were not returned. I am happy I learned how they do business and treat people before I entrusted my vehicle needs to Capitaland GMC / Subaru.. There are better dealers in the Capital District area of upstate NY, for me Capitaland GMC / Subaru is not one of them. Avoid Capitaland GMC and Subaru I am happy I did. More
I recently purchased a 2020 Outback from Capitaland and the entire experience from first phone call to the day I took it home was friendly and complete. I was told what to expect and when. Bought a 2020 Subaru a few months ago and was given only one key that worked. After a hospital stay the staff had mistakenly disgarded my father's cell phone and keys. When we went to use the 2nd key it d one key that worked. After a hospital stay the staff had mistakenly disgarded my father's cell phone and keys. When we went to use the 2nd key it did not work. In working with the service manager he has done nothing but, give us a hard time - with towing and now with a replacement key. He wants us to pay over $200 for a new set of keys. He refuses to give us a FREE replacement key. Seriously??? Buyer beware!! More
