We purchased a lightly used 2024 Mazda CX-5 used on October 2024 and found that it had been sold new by Capital Mazda of Cary in September 2024. We actually purchased a Mazda from this dealership a few October 2024 and found that it had been sold new by Capital Mazda of Cary in September 2024. We actually purchased a Mazda from this dealership a few years before too. We identified that the Mazda CX-5 had the VIP package added by the dealer with items like the First Place Finish, VIN etching, etc. We’ve had these deal add-ons applied to many vehicles before during the finance process and normally there is a contract that outlines the details about coverage, what’s included, expiration and transferring. Since we couldn’t find any information with the vehicle about the contract, we tried reaching out to the dealership. Initially we tried calling but received a lot of uncertainty on the actual package that was added and then when we asked for another person we received a lot of negative pushback on our question, which we didn't really understand why. The sales person said they would get us the info by text which after several days of asking and waiting we gave up. We then tried emailing the finance manager and General Manager using the emails on the company website but still never received a response. We don’t understand why there has been so much resistance to answer such a simple question. If a dealer adds a product to a vehicle that it sells, why wouldn’t the dealer communicate what they added to the vehicle, whether it is the original owner or subsequent owners? If the package doesn't transfer to a new owner, that is fine, but the dealer should be able to provide the general contract details that states that it doesn't transfer. Based on this lack of response to provide basic information about the VIP package, we are led to believe the dealer doesn’t stand by the products that they add on. We also felt the employees we dealt with over the phone did not reflect positively on the dealership. We had previously had positive experiences with this dealership, but those employees have left. For these reasons, we no longer recommend Capital Mazda of Cary. More

*Go to Mazda at Sports Durst in Durham instead* This review is only for the service department. I called them to set up an appointment to get an issue with my car diagnosed. The lady that answers the ph review is only for the service department. I called them to set up an appointment to get an issue with my car diagnosed. The lady that answers the phone in this department needs an education on customer service. At one point during the conversation she said that I'll need to "drop the vehicle off and leave it with us". So I asked her to clarify how long it will take for them to look at it. She answered my question by repeating "you need to drop the vehicle off and leave it with us" in a slower tone. I understand the English language - that is not what I asked to be clarified. She had a very entitled tone to her voice that made it seem like she couldn't care less about whether you were a customer or not. On top of all of this she said that it would cost $150 for a diagnostic check and that cost would NOT go towards the cost to fix the problem. So I called Mazda at Sport Durst (in Durham) instead. They had FAR better customer service and said that the cost to diagnose WOULD go towards the cost of fixing the problem. So I would recommend everyone use them over the Cary location - even if it is a farther drive. More
Disappointed. Called this dealer to purchase a CX-5 for my mom who is 70+ and lives in Cary. They confirmed they had one CX-5 on the lot and I asked if I coul Called this dealer to purchase a CX-5 for my mom who is 70+ and lives in Cary. They confirmed they had one CX-5 on the lot and I asked if I could put a deposit down to hold the car for my mom to see about 24 hours later. I have bought two cars in the past 18 months and even in this unusual market there has never ever been an issue with putting a deposit down and coming in within a day or so to see a car if there is one available. The sales agent did not appear to be empowered to make decisions and had to check with a manager before answering most of my questions. Eventually I just got a text saying the associate “hoped” the car would still be there for us on Saturday when we came in. What? I asked for a manager to call me. No response. I called all the sales manager, no answer. Left a message with receptionist, never got a call back. I waited two days and then called the general manager – no response. Overall this was the worst customer service experience I have had over the past two years of buying three different cars (including two Mazdas). Thankfully we just went to a dealer in Raleigh who sold us a car in less than 24 hours with great service. I understand cars are a premium, but I do not understand why dealers, who usually hound you for days on end about a sale, would to behave this way. I wanted to give them thousands of dollars to hold a car for 24 hours and the sale was 99% certain. It does not appear to be just one person - its the whole place just seems systemically indifferent to selling cars. More
Technician got into my car with me with no mask! He solved my tech problem but showed no concern about my health safety in the midst of a pandemic! solved my tech problem but showed no concern about my health safety in the midst of a pandemic! More

We had a very positive experience while at Capital of Cary. There was quite a bit of planning that went into our search for a new vehicle; I guess I should say new to us. Our sale rep, Rob, was pleasant, Cary. There was quite a bit of planning that went into our search for a new vehicle; I guess I should say new to us. Our sale rep, Rob, was pleasant, professional and went out of his was to make our experience good; even with all we put him through during the negotiation process. From Beginning with Boris to ending with Randy, we are very happy and would recommend Capital to anyone for any year of vehicle. Thanks Capital, J&B More
Be aware of dealer recommended unnecessary services. Some of recommended fluid changes on 30K vehicle are not recommended by the manufacturer until 100K. Everyone should have Ric for a salesman. Very personal and makes a great connection with his clients. Never pushy about buying this used car. Worked out a great price for the car in one easy step. and makes a great connection with his clients. Never pushy about buying this used car. Worked out a great price for the car in one easy step.
