Called the day before asking salesman Timothy S. if the van we were looking for was on the lot. Told them the wife would be there in the morning to look at it and 99% sure purchase it. The following mornin van we were looking for was on the lot. Told them the wife would be there in the morning to look at it and 99% sure purchase it. The following morning after a 4 hour drive the van was not there. Now I understand someone doing a test drive, but it didn't come back till 5 hours later with 150+ miles on it. The price listed online and talked about the day before was apparently not the "final" price either. It had many extras added which raised the price and they refused to remove some of them and was pretty pushy trying to add them. How can you tell me a service "interior coverage" cannot be removed? It's a service, not a installed product. Don't fall for the Apex gps. Was told it would be usable as long as vehicle is financed. It is only available for 5 year plan and after that you have to pay $100 year to keep it. I don't see why a sales man has to go back and forth with finance numerous times to "rework" numbers 5 to 6 times. But in the end after 6 hours comes up with another discount and finance percentage. Why not bring those numbers out to begin with... If it wasn't for our family needing a van,I would have kept our f150. The Ford dealership had me in and out in 45 min after calling the day before and having my pre-approval ready. Update: went to do an oil change and tire rotation. The wheel lock key was not left in the van at purchase. The only advice we got from Timothy and the manager at Boerne Dodge was to bring the van in and they will fix it. Knowing we live 4 hours away this is not possible. They offered no other options to help but said they would "make it up to us" if we were ever in the area. This has been the worst customer service, sales service I have ever had purchasing a vehicle. More
There is a reason this dealership is able to advertise prices that are lower than the competition across the board: They advertise a price and will stuff the bottom line full of unnecessary and unwanted prices that are lower than the competition across the board: They advertise a price and will stuff the bottom line full of unnecessary and unwanted dealer add ons. A good example of this is charging a 1,899.00 installation fee for "Apex GPS". I can't attest to how good that product is, but I can attest that they will not remove it from any car you want to purchase. If this kind of practice isn't illegal in Texas, it should be. At best, it is extremely dishonest. This also makes using outside financing impossible, because an amount that high added onto an invoice voids any pre approval offers. Naturally, you will have to pay the taxes and interest on this feature that you didn't know they installed. The reason dealers do this is they are internet savvy enough to know that online search engines are configured to let lower advertised prices "float to the top" of any search list. They can also cheat car search programs like TrueCar, KBB, and Costco Car Buying into telling a car shopper they're getting a "Great Price", then stack that price higher and deeper with "add ons" and fight the buyer tooth and nail to remove them. Even if you finally convince a manager to take some of them off (they'll say "meeting in the middle") even one of these items left on the buy sheet results in a massive profit for the dealership. There are better ways to make money, which no consumer would fault a seller for. This way isn't one of them. Find another dealer nearby, and save yourself the frustration. More
Beware of the Dealer Discount bait and switch! This dealership performs potentially illegal deceptive pricing practices and false advertising as part of their business model. The "Bourne Dodge Price" l dealership performs potentially illegal deceptive pricing practices and false advertising as part of their business model. The "Bourne Dodge Price" listed on their website is not the actual sale price that they will offer. My experience today: I found a great deal on a Ram truck on the website. Before driving out 100 miles to visit the dealership, I talked to a sales person by phone and confirmed the website price. I talked through details of the features on the window sticker and confirmed that everything listed was indeed on the truck. Upon arrival after a 2 hour drive, a new sales person greeted me. After a test drive of the truck, he provided a price sheet which included the $9158 "Dealer Discount," but the price sheet also included a list of "optional accessories" totaling about $8000 that I emphatically declined. After several trips back to the manager's desk and an eventual conversation with the manager, I was informed that these "optional accessories" could not be removed. These included a $2K anti-theft device, window tinting, windshield protection, a car wash subscription, and a 3 year maintenance contract. The manager did remove the car wash subscription, but refused to remove the other items. None of these accessories are mentioned on the website, and solar tinting is included as a standard feature from the factory. They will not honor the Bourne Dodge Price on their website, so don't waste your time like I did. The sales person claimed that this is required so that they can make a profit. This is the equivalent of Best Buy advertising a TV on sale, but when you visit the store to buy it they require you to buy a service contract and extra streaming devices in order to get the discount. The manager pulled a number of other typical auto dealership tricks like focusing on monthly payments, interest rates, and trade-in values, but the pricing in particular is a potentially illegal deceptive trade practice and represents an apparent systemic attempt to take advantage of honest customers. Beware - don't trust their online prices. They suck you in with great online prices, and then when you're there, they tell you there's also a *mandatory* $1,900 GPS tracking device charge that they install in with great online prices, and then when you're there, they tell you there's also a *mandatory* $1,900 GPS tracking device charge that they install on all their vehicles. Doesn't matter if you wanted a GPS tracking device or not. Mandatory. Then there's the $460 tint charge, the $260 wheel lock charge, etc. So whatever you see for price, just remember that they're going to charge you a minimum of almost another $2k for their GPS tracking device, and they don't care if you didn't want it. Completely unethical for them to advertise their prices and not list that anywhere online. It's misleading, and it's false advertisement. One expects some "dealer fees", but a mandatory GPS tracking device for $2k? Insane. Of note, the sales person I worked with, Nghia, was respectable and pleasant. He shouldn't be dinged for the shady business practices of this employer. Should you choose to purchase a vehicle from a dealership that throws on mandatory add-ons that you don't want, Nghia will likely provide great service. More
I was looking for a new 2020 Ram 4x4 BigHorn and saw the truck I wanted and received sale pricing thru email with qualified discounts. I did inquire of trading in my vehicle but was offered to low of a pric truck I wanted and received sale pricing thru email with qualified discounts. I did inquire of trading in my vehicle but was offered to low of a price. I then requested the total numbers with any associated fees on the truck. They had added a pretty inflated Addendum fees for dealer add ons such as side steps, wheel locks, tint, bedliner, some GPS app. This took the price of the truck and added about 4,000.00 more plus they removed a offer for owning another make of truck which I had verified with FCA that I did qualify for. We did start to negotiate and instead I wanted to put a large down payment, more than what they wanted to trade in. During the negotiation, George the salesman came back and said the deal could not be done since the finance manager Sammy and him had their numbers confused and thought I was going to trade my truck and large down payment. The payment they quoted my was completely off if I had agreed to that, but 17k down from 42k is not a 560 payment for 72 months with excellent credit. Not sure how they got it wrong but just got my keys and left. I was then contacted by Aaron and started offering me discounts on the dealer addons but Sammy had contacted me to see what we could work out. I had a very reasonable number but at that point had lost intertest and Aaron said he spoke to Sammy and just said thanks and all negotiating stopped. Many other reviews with similar experiences, Almost sold me the truck I had wanted but their confusion quickly ended it. BTW 3rd time trying to purchase vehicles from them and always turns out I have greater success elsewhere! George the saleperson was very polite and had great info on the truck. Just the negotiation killed the deal. More
