As for the truck, I took it home, immediately loaded it for a vacation, and left in a snow storm for the sunny beaches of Florida. 1500 miles later the truck has performed exactly as expected, the trip was a breeze. The ride is smooth, the 6.2L engine and 10-speed transmission flawless, and I'm loving the effectiveness of the new headlight combination. And the new tailgate design is proving itself very handy.
