The service technician/mechanic, Steve, also joined the conversation and was equally pleasant; he listened and offered his thoughts and information. Fortunately I was provided with a loaner-vehicle that was readied for me by another very polite young man. I believe they acted as a team and genuinely have their customer's best interest in mind.
