Switch and Bait On Saturday I decided to go to Bald Hill Dodge, Jeep in Warwick, RI. I saw a Grand Cherokee 2014 Black online and was interested to buy that vehicl On Saturday I decided to go to Bald Hill Dodge, Jeep in Warwick, RI. I saw a Grand Cherokee 2014 Black online and was interested to buy that vehicle. After I was greeted Jim the sales rep. showed me the car and explained a few features of the SUV. We went back to the office and after a short negotiation we agreed on a price. Jim started to fill out the paperwork for the sale (as I had a truck to trade in). I need to get some papers from my house and agreed to return in an hour. On my way out I got stopped by Mike (not sure what his role was) he posed as a ‘manager’ and came across very arrogant (oh well) not a big deal. As soon as I arrived at home to prepare the papers I get a phone call from Jim (Bald Hill Dodge) telling me we have a problem and a solution. The problem the car that I just agreed to buy was already sold. The solution I have a similar model (in silver) and for ~US$ 1’500.00 more. That sounds to me very much like bait and switch (not a good sales practice). I told Jim I am not interested in the deal. I hope this is not standard sales practice a Bald Hill Dodge otherwise their customers will not be happy. It was a frustrating/disappointing experience and I will with certainty not return to Bald Hill Dodge. I am glad we have choices with car dealers. More
