I The salesman I had worked with for almost 4 years at Baron retired so I was willing to explore purchasing a vehicle from elsewhere. Big mistake. I bought a used 2015 550ix from BMW of South Kansas City. While the facility is nice and new, the salesman and coming to a deal was a pleasant enough experience however my experience here post sale was abysmal; the worst I have had in over 30 years of buying vehicles. This is also the second time I have had a negative experience at a Hendrick owned Dealership and will be my last experience ever with one. My salesman, James Williams was very pleasant to work with, the pre-owned sales manager Steve Genova was also pleasant and while trying to do right by the dealership had to try and make the best of a very bad situation, Becky Turner in the Parts department was amazing and that's where anything positive ceased to exist. The GM, Ken Newman, is a petulant child that rather than manning up and apologizing for the gross incompetence in the service department decided to avoid me for two hours as he walked the around the dealership while I waited for someone to drive across town to get a check they should have had waiting at the dealership. The finance guy, Chandler West, is an unethical pompous arrogant incompetent buffoon that also has no issue with altering financial paperwork after it has been signed. Imagine the worst greasy-haired sleazeball buy-here-pay-here corner lot salesman you can and you will still get more ethical behavior from that guy than you would Chandler. After this experience I will never again purchase or even look for at vehicle if it's on a Hendrick owned lot. I implore you to avoid BMW of South KC like the plague; I wouldn't send someone I despised to that place. If this is how a dealership open for just a few months operates hopefully BMW USA will take steps now to prevent future customer experience issues and just revoke their dealership agreement with all possible haste. I acknowledge that Baron may not be perfect but they saved the day in a huge way for me in this mess. Take this as you will: part of fixing the mess was that BMW of South KC agreed to pay for the parts and labor to fix the issues with the vehicle and also agreed to let another dealership, Baron, do the work. Save yourself the headache of dealing with those clowns, and likely money getting things properly diagnosed and actually fixed, by just going to Baron to start with. I learned my lesson and next time will just wait until Baron gets what I'm looking for on their lot. More
