If I could give them 0 stars I would. They gave us the excuse that the DMV person was out on maternity leave. It is crazy that its almost 4 months, we've emailed, called and driven from La Mesa to Encinita's multiple itmes. "Shelly" was supposed to do the paperwork and she doesn't reply to my emails. I wish I would have read everyone elses experience on here. Because I get ignored. I have seriously called every day for the last 2 weeks. She doesn't answer the phone, and today the manager that was supposed to be helping us is out of town. I am highly annoyed that I am doing this DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER . THEY AREN'T EVEN BBB ACCREDITED. STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!! I did call the DMV directly and they said that the ball is in the dealerships court and that they need to complete it. They dont return phone calls, they ignore you, they dont even check their emails. Its soo rude that when someone sends you an email that they dont even reply with an answer. More

If you read through other reviews you will see that what happened to me has happened to ot !!! STAY AWAY!! DO NOT BUY A USED CAR FROM THIS PLACE !!! If you read through other reviews you will see that what happened to me has happened to others. November 2019 I purchased a used 2017 i8. After 9 months, I still don’t own the car and it has not been registered under my name (according to DMV). I called sales manager, finance manager …etc with no results and they NEVER calls back. What kind of customer service is this ? I called the dealership to speak with the general manager , a man (GMC) gets on the phone who is not the general manager and very rude. He tells me that he is as high as we are going to get . I explain what’s going on and he tells me “next week it will be ok” which to me means they do not have any ideas what is wrong. I spoke to BMW North America , they said it was really up to the dealer. Please review online reviews and look at the BBB before giving these snakes your business. I did deal with BMW San Diego in past 20yrs with no issues. I will be sharing my experience with every single one to prevent them from doing business with a BMW Vista ($250 did steal from me in 2018 ) BMW Encinitas who does not have any morals or respect to their customer! And guess what, Vista and Encinitas are running by same team/GM. More
STAY AWAY!! DO NOT BUY A USED CAR FROM THIS PLACE !!! If you read through other reviews you will see that what happened to me has happened to others . August 2019 I purchased a used 2011 550 i with 75,000 m you read through other reviews you will see that what happened to me has happened to others . August 2019 I purchased a used 2011 550 i with 75,000 miles . Within a few days a low oil light came on , I took it in and they filled it with oil and told me it was normal . 2 days later , I get the Drive train malfunction light . I take it in and after review they tell me my Turbos have blown out and need replacement. I have the 90 day warranty so it’s covered . It took almost 3 weeks for repair BTW. 6 months after the warranty ends , I get the drive train malfunction light again . I take the car in and they are telling me that I need a new engine which will cost $12,000!! I called the dealership to speak with the general manager , a man named Justin gets on the phone who is not the general manager . He tells me that he is as high as we are going to get . I explain what’s going on and he tells me “It’s a used car” which to me means they do not back up their used cars on their lot . He tells me he will go talk to the service manager and call me back with some options. He NEVER calls back . A few days later , we call again and ask to speak to the general manager . The man on the phone tells me he is at the Vista location , I call the Vista location and they tell me he is at the Encinitas location . I call the Encinitas location back and ask for the general manager’s voicemail, I can here him put the phone down as he’s talking to someone, he gets back on the phone and says “He doesn’t have a voicemail” What kind of GM doesn’t have a VM ?! What kind of customer service is this ? I call Autonation Corp, put in a request to talk to someone. I was told to expect a call within 3 days .. NOBODY CALLED ... ever !!! I spoke to BMW North America , they said it was really up to the dealer on what kind of help they wanted to offer . Which was a measly 20% I have learned that my model of car just has a bad engine , there was a class action lawsuit in 2018 which was never discussed or disclosed . The lawsuit was regarding high oil consumption . My car burns through oil like water in a hot desert oasis . They told me “It was normal” They would not provide me with the list of repairs that were done prior to placing the car on the lot I currently have my car being repaired at a different BMW Dealership since they offered to repair it at a much heftier discount . Please review online reviews and look at the BBB before giving these snakes your business . I work in an industry where I deal with BMW customers in the north county area . I will be sharing my experience with every single one to prevent them from doing business with a company who does not have any morals ! More

Best dealership experience I've had yet! After having a horrific experience leasing a BMW X5 from BMW of Palm Springs, I must say that I wasn't expecting much better coming out to Encinitas ( After having a horrific experience leasing a BMW X5 from BMW of Palm Springs, I must say that I wasn't expecting much better coming out to Encinitas (thinking that all BMW dealerships must be shady). However, I was very pleasantly surprised by my visit and transaction yesterday here. Shout out to Nicolas Muñoz & Ben Regis (sales), Andrew Wood (finance manager), and Stephen Sawyer (GSM) whom I've had the pleasure of dealing with personally at this dealership. These guys really take care of their people like family! I had actually been looking to get a BMW 430i convertible for the past year or so - and two friends local to the desert connected me to Nick at BMW of Encinitas who was very patient and informative when it came to presenting me different car options for some months over the phone. Fast forward to late June 2020 - getting close to my lease maturity date. I happened to see a certified pre-owned 430i convertible that was pretty loaded (to meet my needs), with low mileage online sold at this location. I inquired about it and got connected with Ben Regis shortly thereafter, and he was very responsive and great with helping me get the process started even though I live two hours away. Reserved the car just for me, and set a time to meet. Early Saturday morning I arrive, and everything went very efficiently & smoothly (almost too smoothly for me to believe nothing was about to go wrong lol; I was literally ready to drive back home in the X5... ha!). To my delight though, the car looked as sexy as she did in photos, drove like a dream, and the dealership went through with their word and waived my end-lease disposition fee and other termination fees that my hometown dealership was trying to take advantage of me from. Andrew Wood over at finance even hooked me up with a $500 rebate (I guess for BMW loyalty?) - SO awesome! He was also not annoyingly pushy about trying to sell me extra packages like most finance managers are from my experience, BUT he was informative and gave me choices. Just how they all should be. Thank you for going above and beyond! At this point, I'm just waiting for everything to officially clear on the closing of the X5 lease (anticipating finalized paperwork in the mail to ensure I don't somehow get charged anything more that I shouldn't be), and my second key to the 430i convertible that was promised, but I don't anticipate any issues (hopefully)! BMW of PS will never see me again now because I'll be going back to BMW of Encinitas for my BMW needs ;) I will also be referring all my friends & family in Southern California to BMW of Encinitas!!! Trust Yelp reviews over google. These are BS. Stay away from here! Brought our car in for a recall repair and a software update. Neither of which would prompt a tech to drive the car afterwards. Drove off from here! Brought our car in for a recall repair and a software update. Neither of which would prompt a tech to drive the car afterwards. Drove off the lot and within 1 mile our car stopped accelerating, opened the hood and the charge pipe was clearly cracked and did not blow in the short distance that we drove it. Car was inspected before they worked on it and everything passed. After checking the mileage, we learned they drove just over 6 miles. Confirmed with a different dealership that those repairs would not prompt them to "test drive" the car after. After the service manager blatantly lied about the GM being in, we called and confirmed he was indeed in. When we showed up in the lobby, we could see him, he was right by the reception area and refused to see us. Horrible customer service and no accountability. My boyfriend is black and I can't help but think that they didn't want to help him because of that. He doesn't fit the demographic they want in their store so they don't feel inclined to do anything further. They'd rather attempt to take advantage of someone. When my mom spoke with the service manager he did nothing but belittle her and act as if she didn't know what she was talking about since she was a woman. Super condescending, gross behavior. More
TLDR: If your car is joy ride worthy, don't bring it in. Take pics of mileage in. I took my highly modified E92 M3 in for an airbag recall. I wasn't given paperwork at check in so I specifically asked for a printout of the current mileage. He got the keys from the car, ran it and gave me a printout. I was called after recall was completed 4 days later and asked how many miles were added, and was told only 1. When I finally got there 5 days after that, the mileage in and out on the paperwork also had a 1 mile difference. When I went to the car I saw it actually had 6 miles over the mileage in. I brought this to my adviser's attention and he said they test drive every car 6 miles (very untrue). I called BS. He asked how he could make it better. Service manager called me and said mileage in from key reading is 20 minutes old and recorded from my house (not true), and their test loop is 1 mile long, and only 1 mile was added to the car. I asked if that's true then why would recorded mileage after recall was completed 4 days later be 1 mile over mileage-in as that number HAD to be accurate, and that actual mileage at pickup 5 days after that was 5 miles over the recorded mileage-out. He said, "listen, no one wants to drive your old 2012 BMW". I said okay I don't want to argue anymore, thanks, bye. I never had a test drive after my first airbag recall, and no test drive was listed on the detailed repair sheet or on the recall bulletin. I never had mileage discrepancy from my key reading, or mileage-in / mileage-out numbers on any of my paperwork in the past. If anyone is taking my modded M3 out on a test drive then that's a Joy Ride. I take my BMW's for service here and purchased my last one from them, but I'm going to start driving the extra bit to take it to BMW of Escondido. More
Awefully unprofessional sales I am currently shopping for a new luxury sedan. Narrowed my choices down to a few models, BMW 540 being on top of the list. Contacted BMW Encinitas by I am currently shopping for a new luxury sedan. Narrowed my choices down to a few models, BMW 540 being on top of the list. Contacted BMW Encinitas by email to arrange for a test drive - got a response from the internet sales rep (Ardalan Afshar), explained to him EXACTLY what I am looking for, scheduled an appointment for 11:30am on Friday. Got a confirmation (several, actually, including one the day before). So far so good, right?.. When my wife, son and I arrived at the dealership at 11:20, there was no receptionist and a couple of sales reps around, seemingly helping other customers. I asked one of them to let our rep know that we are here. Suddenly at 11:34 I am getting an email from Ardalan, informing me that "he is very busy today, would would like to reschedule, since I am not buying a car today". I was floored. So unprofessional - I didn't know how to respond immediately! I politely replied that we are already at the dealership, and would appreciate if he asked someone else to show us the car - no response. After 15min additional waiting and wondering around, I ran into and explained the situation to another sales rep walking by. Again, reiterated that a test drive appointment was made in advance, and asked to send a different person to help me. After 10 more minutes another guy comes out, and tells me that in fact, they "DONT HAVE A 540 IN STOCK CURRENTLY, BUT IF ID LIKE I CAN DRIVE A 540e". At this point I don't know if I should laugh in his face or kill someone. I manage to politely inform him that "540e" doesn't exist (and that I'm not interested in 530e hybrid) and hand him a printout of THEIR stock that I got from this dealership website an hour ago, showing TWO 540is available. He goes back to check, and after 10 more minutes comes out to tell me, that one of the cars is currently being used as an executive loaner (driven by the manager's wife), and another one - get this - "oh but that one is located at another lot" (!!!!!) After this it was clear that nothing would be happeneing, so we just stormed off their grounds and drove away. So to summarize: 1. After knowing exactly the model I was interested in, the car in question was not made available for test drive. 2. The internet rep is completely unprofessional. Who tries to reschedule an existing appointment, when the customer is already there?? Furthermore, refuses to show his face or respond to futher communication? 3. Unless you are absolutely ready to buy the car on the spot, they will treat you like trash. The moral of the story: there are so many BMW dealerships in SoCal - do yourself a favor -go somewhere/anywhere else but BMW of Encinitas! More

When we Documented all of his multiple Acts of deceit to the GM Darrin, Darrin too was as dishonest and deceitful as a Crookitician within the DNC's Organized Crime Syndication like Adam ShiftforBrains or Eric Swallows. So unless you are mentally unstable and get off on getting ripped off, never buy a car or have your car serviced at BMW of Encinitas. Oh, both Darrin and Matt told us; "we are not BMW." xxx? BMW logo's everywhere yet they both don't think they are BMW? Those two are a disgrace to the BMW Brand. More

I came here because they had the car I wanted in the color I liked. 4/27 I swapped out my old lease at Encinitas. All miles over were to be washed away, there was no balance to be carried onto my new deal. Over the next couple months I continued getting calls from BMW financial saying my old vehicle was not out of my name. I contacted my sales rep (Esan) 2-3 times regarding this issue, the last was 6/24 when I received a notice from the DMV. I was again assured by Esan this was taken care of. Then last week I start getting phone calls from a DEBT COLLECTOR. Telling me I owe over $1000 to BMW financial. I am livid, this has ruined my day. I have never experienced such incompetence from a "premium brand" like this. I HIGHLY recommend going to ANY BMW dealership except this one! I will never do business here again. More
