My initial contact to Autos Direct Online came in late 2012 after seeing their listing on a car that I had trouble finding in my Where do I start? My initial contact to Autos Direct Online came in late 2012 after seeing their listing on a car that I had trouble finding in my home state of California. I was working overseas so I decided to give it a shot. My salesman, Juan Rosario, was very helpful throughout the sales process, including the inspection I received from an independent shop. The car was delivered on time before I returned home. This is where the problems started. During the independent inspection the mechanic noticed that one of the rims had three areas where cracks had been welded. I negotiated with Juan to have them swapped out with a similar vehicle with minor coaxing. When I first looked at the vehicle in person I saw that the wheels were in very bad shape. Also the tire pressure monitors were removed. I ended up purchasing new wheels and sensors. All in all it cost me about $1000 extra. The wheel issue was minor compared to the following. After a few weeks went by I went to the DMV in California to register the vehicle. I come to find out that Autos Direct Online never received the title from the Mercedes dealer in which they purchased it from. At this point Juan is no longer interested in this sale and has moved on. I get passed off to Janelle who conveniently ignored my repeated emails and phone calls. After getting blown off I was forced to come in contact with the Ohio Attorney Generals office to either get my money back or the title. Finally Christine from Autos Direct Online reaches me and she was actually helpful in getting things worked out even though it wasn't as fast as I had hoped. In the end I spent around 50 hours of my time including 12 trips to DMV, 10 calls to California DMV, 5 calls to Ohio BMV, 10 calls to Ohio Attorney General, 40 calls to Autos Direct Online. The final resolution came from me tracking down the previous owner of the vehicle to get her to sign and notarize a lost title application. By the time I received registration on the vehicle it was exactly ONE YEAR later and my tags were due for payment. The final day at the DMV in California I had a stack of paperwork about four inches high and it required special managerial approval from DMV to make it happen. Avoid this dealer at all cost... More
