Every time I go to my appointment for a scheduled oil change I am always there for 2 to 2 1/2 hours so I always have to make sure to take a book to read. I scheduled my service visit either online or by phone, I don't remember which. That process went well, and I received both email and telephone contacts ahead of the appointment to confirm the date and time, don't remember which. Upon arrival, I was greeted and told to wait in the lobby until the service representative called me. I waited for 20 minutes without a call, and then went looking for my service rep. I learned that the service rep. assigned to me worked at the other service center (for cars), not at the truck center where I am supposed to go (Highlander). A service rep (I think Megan?) quickly volunteered to help me and found that Shantel had already sent my SUV back for the work to be done. She escorted me to Shantel and made sure Shantel knew I was there. Shantel did a great job in explaining the process and answering my questions about the upcoming service schedule. The summary- the online/telephone appointment system fouled up, but the team recovered well. On another note, the connectivity between the car and my phone via Android Auto can use some help. I have tried to find help within the dealership, but only find agreement that it doesn't work well. I have looked online to find tutorials, but those are general and beginner level and don't answer questions about volume control, multiple bluetooth connectivity, etc. If there are resources to provide useful information, it would be helpful. I also want to state that I was very disappointed to learn that some features that come with the car are only available for a period of time without paying fees. For the most part, these are duplicates of services for which I pay my mobile phone carrier. The features all look good up front, but the whole interaction between phone and car are not explained in sufficient detail to understand what stays with you and what requires payment to keep, nor to explain what functions will continue to work without payment vs. with payment. Rant over! More
I commented while there how impressed I was with the friendliness of everyone I met. I was given a very friendly greeting as I pulled in. Worked with Mark Trillas as my Customer Care Specialist. My oil change took about an hour. Mark called to let me know it was ready. That's an all time record of dealing with Toyota for waiting time. When I paid, again the employees were friendly and helpful. Having just arrived from Illinois, I was very impressed with how different it was to use the Fort Myers AutoNation Toyota. Thank you. More
