inconsistent service I bought a Hyundai Tucson on about May 2, 2020, trading in a Tucson I had bought from Autofair in 2013. It is possible that service has deteriorated s I bought a Hyundai Tucson on about May 2, 2020, trading in a Tucson I had bought from Autofair in 2013. It is possible that service has deteriorated since then, The promised second set of keys was not available on the time of sale. the salesman told me a week later that I would have to drive to the dealer, a 90 minute drive, because even though there are two dealers in VT (where I live) I had to go to Autofair. I refused, and he later said it would be mailed, and now two weeks later no keys yet. I would have let that go except for another incident which I think would be of more interest to prospective customers. We all know that phone systems of cars can be a little tricky, so I was not surprised that after 2 weeks of driving my bluetooth phone system stopped working. I called up Autofair for a quick over the phone diagnosis of the problem...the service person refused to discuss it and said I had to come in -- a 90 drive. Fortunately I called again and got another service person who was not only interested in my problem but also guessed at the solution (complete an operating system update on my iphone). I thanked that person (Mark) warmly. I get a sense that the staff is undertrained and told to refuse to make special accomodations for customers after the sale is made. More
Cristina was amazing. My wife and I went in to have a flat tire repaired. And needed all four replaced. Ended up needing more work done than we expected. they gave us a discount on the price. I picked up my car on Saturday and again, the service was amazing. Matt had my paperwork in order and understood my need to be out of there as quickly as possible. I purchased a 2012 Sonata in August with approx 125k miles. The car had a few cosmetic issues but seemed to be in good mechanical condition and I was able to negotiate a fair price. The car was not under the factory warranty and I did not purchase an extended warranty as the miles were fairly low, the dealer checked the car, I test drove the car and all seemed well. 2 weeks ago my daughter calls and tells me the car is not well, the check engine light was flashing and the car was making a funny noise and was having a hard time accelerating. I met her at the gas station right near the Hyundai dealer in Manchester. The car was as she said, not well. I drove the car to Autofair Hyundai and told them what we observed and asked them to have a look and let me know what was wrong so we could have it repaired. A few hours later I get a call from Alex Gould. Alex tells me he has good news and bad news. Yikes! Bad news?! I’m thinking expensive emissions sensor, right? Check engine light’s on, usually some emissions issue but no, of course not 😟. The bad news is the engine had completely failed and needed to be replaced! Wow! 7 months and maybe 5k mikes and the engine needs to be replaced! Ok, there’s supposed to be good news. So I ask, what’s the good news? Alex tells me the good news is they already ordered an engine for me, it will arrive the next day and they can perform the installation within 2 days! 🤔 sure, good news for the Hyundai Service department but I just paid good money for this car in August and now need to replace the engine! But wait, there’s more he tells me, the engine will be delivered the next day, installed and there will be no charge to me at all for the part or installation! Apparently there was a known issue with the engine for this year and model so Hyundai extended the warranty for the years and models impacted and even though I was a bit over on the mileage I was still under on the length of time, so Hyundai honored the warranty, installed the engine in one day, not two as they originally estimated and I drove off the lot with a new engine at no cost! Wow! Alex was great! Hyundai was great! The car seems well and next time we buy a car we’ll be looking at Hyundai’s first! Best Regards, Bob S. More
