Around April 18th, we reached out to Audi West Covina to inquire about a Maserati we wanted to purchase. We spoke with Bryan and after running the credit, we were told we were preapproved for the car and th inquire about a Maserati we wanted to purchase. We spoke with Bryan and after running the credit, we were told we were preapproved for the car and the deal could potentially be funded by calling in a favor to the bank. We would have to come down and do a customer interview (Have text messages as proof). On April 20th, my brother and I came down to the dealer to potentially purchase the Maserati after Bryan insisted, we do so. We made it clear we didn’t want to make the two-hour drive unless there was an approval. Once we arrived at the dealer, Bryan was nowhere to be found so we worked with someone named Malik. Things initially went smooth until he reviewed the credit. Malik then tells us he heard nothing from Bryan about what was told to us via text, and we had a couple options. More money down, a co-signer, or file bankruptcy. Being told to file bankruptcy is reckless advice from someone who sales cars. We got up and left after feeling judged and aggravated that he was so nonchalant about not doing what he could to get us into a vehicle. I should have taken that as a sign, however one of my other brothers was willing to co-sign or put the vehicle in his name. So, we reached back out to the dealer and landed an approval with Stefany. From the beginning, Stefany was great. She was communicative, professional, and upfront about the deal. After receiving the approval, we received a phone call from the finance manager to discuss the contract and additional add Ons. I expressed a warranty was of importance to me. We received the contract via email from the finance manager to sign on 4/26/2024. The contract was immediately e-signed and sent back. I was then told the bank wouldn’t extend extra funds to finance the warranty. However, I noticed GAP (1,500), Exterior paint protection (1,500), and Key protection (800) were added to the contract. I told the finance manager I added the car to my insurance and requested Loan/Lease payoff through progressive, yet I was still stuck with gap on the contract. We heard nothing after that. After calling all day Saturday and sending a few emails that went unanswered, I reached out to Stefany and requested to cancel the deal as I couldn’t get ahold of finance to discuss the warranty, what happens next in the process, etc. The finance manager then reached out to me and explained since I was an out of state customer, the process was a bit different. He also said he sent papers out fedex on the Friday I signed the contract however that was never communicated to me. I ended up having to spend another $1,500 on a rental due to Audi dragging their feet with the deal, not returning calls and emails and ultimately feeling as if my deal wasn’t a priority. I received the papers April 30th and sent them back overnight. Once the papers were received, I was told they were sent to Ally and we were waiting for the deal to be funded. I reached out to the finance manager on May 3rd to check the status of things and was told we were still waiting for funding. He would check on the warranty the upcoming Monday and reach back out to me. Well, the finance manager was off Monday and Tuesday. Why tell me you would check on my warranty options on Monday knowing you would be off two days? Funding came through Wednesday May 8th and we were finally able to pick the car up from the dealer. Once we arrived, we felt like a burden. There was no talk of a warranty or any information on it. We felt as if they just wanted the Maserati and us gone. Unfortunately, this whole experience left a very bad impression on this purchase, car buying as a whole, and we felt as if we got a bad deal when we should be celebrating. Our trust is also damaged as we see things in the contract, we didn’t ask for vs. the things we did. This was a stressful, tense experience and I never want to experience this again. More
