Service Department Purchased a 2017 A3 . Everything about the purchase experience was great as far as salesman and finance dept. Had the vehicle about 16 months and abou Purchased a 2017 A3 . Everything about the purchase experience was great as far as salesman and finance dept. Had the vehicle about 16 months and about 25000 miles. The car started to make a lot of noise. It was my wife’s vehicle and I believed it was from the tires. We scheduled an appointment with the Dealership in Mentor. Upon arrival we were greeted and explained our issue with the noise. The service representative said he needed to get the Service Manager to make sure we were on the same page as far as the noise we were hearing. The Service Manager drove our vehicle with me and said that it was noise from the tires and looked and said he believed the left rear tire was cupped and causing the noise. He also said we could have hit the many potholes in our area and caused this to happen. Then told me I needed 4 tires. My concern is We purchased this Car and thought we would get this wonderful service department, but the Service Manager never even put thr car on the lift to see if anything was wrong other than the 4 tires he wanted me to purchase. Thought he might check tires to see if they were out of balance or something in suspension was damaged. It most likely tire noise but is something actually wrong. Purchasing new tires may solve the noise temporarily but what if there is a problem.What kind of service is this for a vehicle with 25000 miles. Just assuming it is the tires?
