Exorbitant quotes for two simple jobs. Lavery ? I agreed . I also asked them to check on and quote for me on the TPMS light which stayed on continously despite the tire pressures being correct and properly input into the system. After the service was started I was informed that " there was a gel-like substance in the brake reservoir and that this had to be removed to avoid brake failure ", At this stage I was told that they might not be ale to remove all of the gel and that they might have to " replace all of the hydraulic components of the brake system " On asking them what caused this gel, they did not know but thought that some contaminant made its way in to the system or that the wrong brake fluid had been used in the past " I reminded them that they were the ones who had serviced and bled the brake system since the car was new. I got no response to that. In any case they said they would try hard to flush out the gel . However, after about 45 minutes I was told that " nothing was coming out of the calipers and that the system was clogged " They duly closed the xxxxxxx but advised me that I should consider replacing the hydraulics as mentioned above , but until I did that " the brakes could fail. I duly asked for a quote for the job and was given a detailed quote for $8,715.26, made up of $4,845.26 for parts and $.3,870.00 for labor. At the same time they gave me a quote of $1,245.94 to replace all tire sensors and the rear antenna to repair the TPMS system. Needless to say I walked away. The following day I took the vehicle to the Audi service center at Dequindre in Rochester Hills. They confirmed that the brake system was indeed contaminated and could not understand how this could have happened unless the wrong fluid had been used in the past. However, they said that they would take care of it although it might take a few hours, rather than the usual one hour to bleed a system. Audi Rochester Hills duly managed to power-flush the system completely, for which I paid $600 for the 5 hours of labor and several gallons of cleansing fluid that was necessary to remove the gel. I did not ask Audi Rochester Hills to address the TPMS light as it was not really a safety issue. However, I have since driven to sunny Florida for my winter get-a-way and asked the Crown Audi Service Center on Hwy 19 North, Clearwater, to address the TPMS system. They duly did, for $ 304.13. Overall, I saved $9,056.07 by not having Fred Lavery do these two simple jobs. Needless to say, I will never again grace Lavery's premises, either for a new vehicle or for service. More
The worst dealership in Michigan This dealership has one thing going for it, location. If it wasn't in a location surrounded by wealthy people who could care less about anything but g This dealership has one thing going for it, location. If it wasn't in a location surrounded by wealthy people who could care less about anything but getting their 100k car and being on their way, this place would be shut in a heartbeat. I'm one of those who buys nice cars but I demand respect and good service when it is required. This dealership is absolutely terrible in the way they treat their customers. The guys selling the cars think they can actually afford them and talk down to you like a peasant when your the one about to drop 70-160k on a car. The people in the service department think you know nothing about the car and won't take your opinions into consideration. Not only that but they look for any reason not to repair your car under warranty so they can make a quick dollar. Do yourselves a favor and go to any Audi dealership but this one. More

Had car towed in because it would not start and was told I needed a new battery. I was wondering why because the battery I had was only one year old and put in when I had engine work totaling close to $70 I needed a new battery. I was wondering why because the battery I had was only one year old and put in when I had engine work totaling close to $7000.00 dollars done. Never the less I bought new battery for $350.00 picked car up. The next morning the car started jerking was not happening before! I took car back to dealer and they said I needed a fuel sensor that the one I had was bad. Now I'm no mechanic and I didn't go to the corner gas station to have repairs done so I would assume that the dealer mechanic knows how to work and read the diagnostic machine and should have been able to detect any and all problems prior to me picking up vehicle. So with that being said nothing was wrong but in fact someone at dealer has tampered with my vehicle and thinks that I am crazy enough to keep taking it back and giving them more money to fix things they are doing intentially to my car!!!! Had a whining sound from the front end of a 2011 A4. Took car for test drive and was told we needed new tires at $1200.00. This didn't seem right so we took the car to Belle Tire and they said the tires were car for test drive and was told we needed new tires at $1200.00. This didn't seem right so we took the car to Belle Tire and they said the tires were fine but the front passenger wheel bearing was bad. Took the car to Audi of Rochester (MI) and they confirmed and fixed the bearing issue. The car is under warranty so we were not charged a penny and were given a loaner to boot! Lavery = Horrible and dishonest. Audi of Rochester = Fantastic! More

I don't usually write bad reviews, but I had such a poor experience at Fred Lavery that I feel compelled to share details here, in the hopes that it might influence other buyers to look elsewhere. I went to experience at Fred Lavery that I feel compelled to share details here, in the hopes that it might influence other buyers to look elsewhere. I went to Fred Lavery to check out the A3 TDI. The salesman, Paul, was very friendly and took me for a test drive in the one TDI they had in stock. I loved the A3 and was completely sold by its performance, but the car I test drove wasn't the car for me. It didn't have some of the options I wanted and it had others I didn't want. So Paul said he would check inventory at other dealers in the region and around the country to see if he could find the car I wanted. Despite the fact that he promised to call the next day, I didn't hear back from him for several days. Then, he told me that he couldn't seem to locate ANY A3 TDIs, anywhere in the country. That seemed odd to me, so I asked him to search again and call me back with the results. In the meantime, after work that day, I searched the Internet briefly and found several dealers with A3 TDIs listed as in-stock. So I called a dealership in Seattle, which was still open because of the time difference. The salesman I spoke with there said they had 11 A3 TDIs in stock. So I knew that Paul either didn't know how to use the dealer inventory search software or was being deliberately dishonest with me. When we spoke again, Paul said he still hadn't found any other A3 TDIs, and gave me his "best price" quote on the TDI he had in stock. I wasn't interested. Instead, I searched online until I found the exact car I wanted at Audi Silver Spring in Maryland. When I mentioned the car to Paul, he asked, "Oh, so you're buying that car from them, then?" Because it was clear to me that he had no intention of doing business with me if I wasn't interested in the car he had in stock, I said yes. And I couldn't be happier with my decision to purchase a car from Audi Silver Spring. If you're a Detroit-area buyer, don't settle for sub-par service at Fred Lavery. Consider buying a car from Audi Silver Spring instead. Even though it's out-of-state, you'll be SO glad you did. I know I am. More
This is the fifth vehicle that I have purchased from the Fred Lavery Company, and I will be back for many more. My husband and I have had two Range Rovers, one Porsche, and two Audis that have all been lea Fred Lavery Company, and I will be back for many more. My husband and I have had two Range Rovers, one Porsche, and two Audis that have all been leased or purchased through this company, and every experience that I have had has been better than the one before it. The sales staff is exceptional and I worked directly with the General Manager for my most recent purchase. They are kind, honest people who put the customer first in every situation. They have a service department that is open until midnight during the week and I have never had any issue getting my car in for any type of work. It is really nice to walk into a place where everyone knows your name and treats you like you are part of their family. More
