Had car towed in because it would not start and was told I needed a new battery. I was wondering why because the battery I had was only one year old and put in when I had engine work totaling close to $70 I needed a new battery. I was wondering why because the battery I had was only one year old and put in when I had engine work totaling close to $7000.00 dollars done. Never the less I bought new battery for $350.00 picked car up. The next morning the car started jerking was not happening before! I took car back to dealer and they said I needed a fuel sensor that the one I had was bad. Now I'm no mechanic and I didn't go to the corner gas station to have repairs done so I would assume that the dealer mechanic knows how to work and read the diagnostic machine and should have been able to detect any and all problems prior to me picking up vehicle. So with that being said nothing was wrong but in fact someone at dealer has tampered with my vehicle and thinks that I am crazy enough to keep taking it back and giving them more money to fix things they are doing intentially to my car!!!! Had a whining sound from the front end of a 2011 A4. Took car for test drive and was told we needed new tires at $1200.00. This didn't seem right so we took the car to Belle Tire and they said the tires were car for test drive and was told we needed new tires at $1200.00. This didn't seem right so we took the car to Belle Tire and they said the tires were fine but the front passenger wheel bearing was bad. Took the car to Audi of Rochester (MI) and they confirmed and fixed the bearing issue. The car is under warranty so we were not charged a penny and were given a loaner to boot! Lavery = Horrible and dishonest. Audi of Rochester = Fantastic! More

I don't usually write bad reviews, but I had such a poor experience at Fred Lavery that I feel compelled to share details here, in the hopes that it might influence other buyers to look elsewhere. I went to experience at Fred Lavery that I feel compelled to share details here, in the hopes that it might influence other buyers to look elsewhere. I went to Fred Lavery to check out the A3 TDI. The salesman, Paul, was very friendly and took me for a test drive in the one TDI they had in stock. I loved the A3 and was completely sold by its performance, but the car I test drove wasn't the car for me. It didn't have some of the options I wanted and it had others I didn't want. So Paul said he would check inventory at other dealers in the region and around the country to see if he could find the car I wanted. Despite the fact that he promised to call the next day, I didn't hear back from him for several days. Then, he told me that he couldn't seem to locate ANY A3 TDIs, anywhere in the country. That seemed odd to me, so I asked him to search again and call me back with the results. In the meantime, after work that day, I searched the Internet briefly and found several dealers with A3 TDIs listed as in-stock. So I called a dealership in Seattle, which was still open because of the time difference. The salesman I spoke with there said they had 11 A3 TDIs in stock. So I knew that Paul either didn't know how to use the dealer inventory search software or was being deliberately dishonest with me. When we spoke again, Paul said he still hadn't found any other A3 TDIs, and gave me his "best price" quote on the TDI he had in stock. I wasn't interested. Instead, I searched online until I found the exact car I wanted at Audi Silver Spring in Maryland. When I mentioned the car to Paul, he asked, "Oh, so you're buying that car from them, then?" Because it was clear to me that he had no intention of doing business with me if I wasn't interested in the car he had in stock, I said yes. And I couldn't be happier with my decision to purchase a car from Audi Silver Spring. If you're a Detroit-area buyer, don't settle for sub-par service at Fred Lavery. Consider buying a car from Audi Silver Spring instead. Even though it's out-of-state, you'll be SO glad you did. I know I am. More
This is the fifth vehicle that I have purchased from the Fred Lavery Company, and I will be back for many more. My husband and I have had two Range Rovers, one Porsche, and two Audis that have all been lea Fred Lavery Company, and I will be back for many more. My husband and I have had two Range Rovers, one Porsche, and two Audis that have all been leased or purchased through this company, and every experience that I have had has been better than the one before it. The sales staff is exceptional and I worked directly with the General Manager for my most recent purchase. They are kind, honest people who put the customer first in every situation. They have a service department that is open until midnight during the week and I have never had any issue getting my car in for any type of work. It is really nice to walk into a place where everyone knows your name and treats you like you are part of their family. More
I took my car for an error message that read air suspension inactive brake and abs lights were also on after diagnosis they said it was the air compressor, $1100 later and 24 hours after I picked up suspension inactive brake and abs lights were also on after diagnosis they said it was the air compressor, $1100 later and 24 hours after I picked up my vehicle the same error message appeared again! I took it back now they stated it was a different error and required a different part, although the car was tested after the initial repair. So after another $400, the same day actually 2 hours later the car started overheating! The radiator hose had become loose and spilled the antifreeze out! They also wanted an additional $300 to repair it even though they were the only ones who worked on it and possible caused the issue to begin with. I the become untrust worthy of the dealer ship and took it to another dealership who said that it was only the clap which was about $5 and it needed to be put back on. The service manager was uncooperative and didn’t show any sympathy for the situation even though I had just spent $1500 with them in the past week, he instead offered only a discounted price of the repair and would not take any responsibility for the part becoming undone. Oh yeah they also charged me for the rental and lost my key! More
This service manager is so clueless and so apathetic towards my comments about the bad job of doing the maintenance on my 2006 audi a8L. I am very angry at paying so much when they missed my poor alignm towards my comments about the bad job of doing the maintenance on my 2006 audi a8L. I am very angry at paying so much when they missed my poor alignment in the rear wheels leading to wearing out of my back 2 tires after 20,000 miles and state that i need to pay more to get it aligned. I told them very harshly that its their fault that they overlooked checking the alignment when I payed 900 dollars for my 85k mile servicing and that I should not be paying for this alignment. Overall, Fred Lavery servicing is by far pathetic and is outclassed by many year from cross town rivals such as Erhard BMW and Meade Lexus. I love my Audi and will get it serviced in Ann Arbor or Rochester Audi. More
The service department is barely civil and certainly not friendly...particularily to women. My Posche needed brakes, I made the appointment over the phone and called not once but twice. Do you think that t friendly...particularily to women. My Posche needed brakes, I made the appointment over the phone and called not once but twice. Do you think that they could have told me they moved their service department!!!??? This is my third and last visit to Fred Lavery More
