The overall experience has been easy, without pressure, and incredibly informative. Scott delivered my new X5 to our office in Smyrna, GA (1.5hrs away) and took the time to explain everything in detail with me. His prompt and friendly service, combined with their lower price led me to choose them over a local dealer. I drove from South Mississippi and arrived 7 hours later. The BMW was out front, washed and ready to take home. The entire staff was very friendly and laid back. Cody was informative and thorough in teaching me the vehicle's gadgetry and Joey was able to offer me an interest rate almost half that of my bank; he also made the finance process very quick, simple and straightforward. Overall, a fantastic experience - this is the way buying a car should be. My only regret is that I live too far away to have the pleasure of them service it. More

Straightforward, honest, and professional Emailed Athens BMW about a used Ford Fusion (at a great price) I saw on cargurus.com on Sunday evening and was answered by Joe the following morning. After a few emails back and forth, I requested a walk out the door price and Joe obliged. Made the drive from Stone Mountain to Athens and Joe welcomed us and we relaxed while he pulled the car around. Checked out the car and it was just as the pics and description advertised. Took it for a pleaseant test drive and when we got back to the dealership, I was ready to complete the purchase. 15 minutes later, the paperwork was signed with Joey, we cut a check for the previously given price (no surprises,) and we were ready to drive out. Joe was a pleasure to do business with and he made the entire car buying process a breeze with great communication, hospitality, and straightforwardness. Definitely worth the drive from Stone Mountain to Athens! More

We live in South Carolina so I went to our usual BMW dealership to buy a new 2 series convertible. Trading in our 2009 1 series convertible. Knew it was going to be a busy day, but had no issue waiting 30min. to work with salesman I spoke to week before. After 4 hrs. there, left feeling like my purchase wasn't expensive enough to get the BMW "experience." Many interruptions, salesman didn't know answers to questions, said they didn't use Edmunds or any other car pricing service I mentioned, and knocked other BMW dealerships saying they were the best price and good luck finding a better price anywhere. Appraiser looked at my car. Salesman did a search and said the color I wanted wasn't out there and would have to be built. No problem. I asked when the 2016 2 convertible was going to come out and he said he had no way of knowing. He worked up quote for building a 2015, saying that no one could beat them since they don't make any money selling cars, they make their money from the service department! Not something to tell a customer! I said as soon as I got a trade in price for mine, I would put a deposit down. Told him I did research and knew ball park for my trade. He called next day and quoted a price for my car that was $4000 less than Edmunds lowest price. Talk about being insulted! He gave me some song and dance about not knowing where Edmunds comes up with prices and said any car with higher miles gets a poor condition rating from his dealership automatically even though higher miles is all ready factored into Edmunds price. He then finished by saying good luck getting more elsewhere, and if I did, he would be interested in knowing where! Started to think that maybe it was time to switch brands if this was the direction BMW was going in. Decided to reply to emails from Rick Bythewood at Athens BMW and Curt the manager of Athens BMW, who both responded within an hour of my request going out for quote from the pricing site I used. Rick responded immediately and we continued by phone. Very professional and knowledgeable. His information contradicted almost everything the "best dealership around" said. I found out from Rick: You cannot order a 2015, 2016 production was started 2 weeks before (competent salesperson would have know) a search found the car we wanted at a North Carolina dealership, and without even looking at the car, the trade in price was inline with Edmunds. Over the next several hours back and forth with emails and phone calls with questions and fine tuning of price and details. Rick responded almost immediately to every email and phone call. Very personal service and a true BMW experience (classy, professional, pleasant). One more hurdle: this was late afternoon Thursday and we needed to take possession of the car by Monday to take advantage of the $500 rebate and to use the $1000 Drive Team USA coupon for test driving the week before. Bottom line: Rick got the car from North Carolina, did all the pre-sale inspections and polishing, and had the car delivered to our driveway on Monday afternoon! Never had to leave the house. All the paperwork was brought to us. Cody from Athens BMW, who delivered the car, was excellent. A couple glitches in the paperwork were handled quickly by Cody over the phone with the dealership. A perk of this dealership; within a 150 mile radius, they will come get the car for all service, leave you a loaner car, and return your car. Hats off to this dealership for true customer service, honesty, and professionalism. More

We had located a Mercedes ML 350 that met most of our needs, but it did not have a panoramic roof and the performance ratings were second to the BMW X 5. After searching on line using True car and Edmunds ,traveling to four BMW dealerships near home, I became discouraged feeling the facilities I was working with were reluctant to share information and aloof. Then the light went on realizing I do not have buy the car close to home as all dealerships will honor the warranty completing scheduled service. So I connected with True Car again but this time added the Zip code for Spartanburg South Carolina. The next day I had a response from Joe Coleman at Athens BMW in Georgia. Joe had the car I was looking for. Better yet they were not rigid on the True Car average sales price. We exchanged phone calls and emails the next few days moving closer to a closing. But wait the car is in Georgia? Joe reassured me that I could back out of the deal for any reason and my deposit would be returned. Driving back to Massachusetts, no problem, they would tag the car with a Georgia 45 day dealer license plate then arranges the title and registration to be completed in Massachusetts. At that moment I knew I had to see the car. I arranged to fly to Atlanta and Joe had a driver pick me up at the airport. We arrived at the dealership and the car was everything we were looking for and then some. I spent a couple of hours with Athens Product Specialist Scott Cassady learning how to use all the equipment on the vehicle, and there’s a lot, but Scott knows his stuff. When he was done I was very comfortable operating the vehicle. We then completed the paperwork in a half hour and I was ready to hit the road. There were no hassles haggles or games. Joe is one of those people you feel like you have known all your life a “good neighbor.”He was a single point of contact that was genuine. In the end Joe Coleman and Athens BMW sold their first car in Hull MA, and I bought my first car through the internet. Overall a great experience that I would recommend. Thank you Joe More
