Recently performed some maintenance on my vehicle after it was last in at Anchor for some maintenance. When I took the rear tires off on my truck after it was in, I found gear oil, as though it was leaking it was last in at Anchor for some maintenance. When I took the rear tires off on my truck after it was in, I found gear oil, as though it was leaking from the seals. Upon further inspection, axle seals were totally fine with absolutely no oil behind the rotor or leaking at the seal. Everything was totally dry, except for what was clearly sprayed/applied to the hub portion of my rear rotors. Since the truck only gets serviced at Anchor, there was no one else that could have done this. Had they poured/sprayed more in there, they could have saturated my rear brakes making them ineffective - extremely dangerous! Theres no reason why gear oil should have been applied, so the only other reason I can figure they would have done this was to try to sell me on a costly new axle or expensive diagnostic fee that was not truly need... Hopefully that wasn't the case, but I'm skeptical of this place now. More
