Mr. Halpin, We appreciate your feedback and like you, we are very disappointed in the outcome of the situation. It is unfortunate that your truck broke down and needed immediate attention on December 31. The snow storms and severe cold weather affected a lot of Vermonters the last week of the year. As you can imagine it left MANY Vermonters in a pinch, all of whom we tried our very best to get back on the road. Given that your vehicle was towed in that day, and also repaired that day, your contention seems to be that it was not convenient for you to have to come and pick the truck up. As I am sure you are aware, it was New Year’s eve, we were unsuccessful in finding drivers that evening that were able to deliver your truck to you. At YOUR suggestion, you indicated that if the vehicle were able to be kept inside overnight and you could pick it up the next morning early, you could get on the road for your trip. Using the solution you offered, as the General Manager of the store, I left Colchester on New Year’s Day at 7 in the morning to drive to Berlin, open the store, move your vehicle from the heated garage to the front of the building, as you requested. My wife and I waited, texted you, and had expected you at 8 a.m. as you requested. Unfortunately you chose not to respond to my texts, and after a period of time, we departed the facility to drive back to Colchester, but left your vehicle at the ready in the front of the facility as you requested. It is unfortunate that your vehicle needed attention. It is unfortunate that our schedule was packed with needs of many customers. I feel our team did everything in their power to get your vehicle back on the road the same day. Were it not New Year’s eve, we would have had no issue getting manpower to bring you your truck. Unfortunately by the time we received your request, it simply was not possible. I know you did not wish to be inconvenienced, and I assure you I had no desire to drive 90 miles round trip on New Year’s morning, but since you had suggested it to be an acceptable alternative and I am here to serve the customer, I did so. I am disappointed that you feel we are not worthy of your business. However I assure you that while you do own your vehicle, we will always do what is possible to assist you as a valued customer. If you choose not to do business with us, that is certainly your choice, but rest assured, if you need us in the future, I would make that 90 mile round trip again to do what I could for you.
