Within 10 days, purchased two Mazda3s from Elliott Hersh; John Bonner coordinated delivery of one. Well pleased both and their Saturn-style salesmanship. No pressure. John Bonner coordinated delivery of one. Well pleased both and their Saturn-style salesmanship. No pressure. More
Great sales experience. I spoke with Alex on the phone and John at the dealership. We talked about choices(new 2012, new 2013, used certified),took a drive, and answered all our questions. They offered a great price and paperwork went very smoothly. John even delivered the car himself, as we couldn't get to the dealership the day the car was ready. More
I purchased a certified used Mazda a full asking price. The secrecy, the back-and-forth to "check with my sales manager", the inordinately long time to make a deal. Prior to Lannan Mazda, my car buying experiences lasted 4+ hours. Dreadful. But then I met Elliott. I had submitted a pricing request via their website and he called me back. It felt like I was dealing with a friend's dad, not the typical car salesman. He was kind, patient, and LISTENED. Never talked over me, never tried to force me to make a decision, never treated me like a woman buying a car on her own, if you know what I mean. We did a little bit of back and forth on the pricing, but it was so easy compared to my other experiences. We settled on a price that I was comfortable with, for the car I wanted. But the follow-up is where this story really gets good. When I went to pick up the car, he walked me over to their service department and introduced me - in person - to the head of that department. After Dwayne, their service manager, gave me the certificate for my first oil change free, Elliott walked me back out to the car and spent 20 minutes going over all the features, making sure I had a good overview before I drove off the lot. He called me a week after I bought the car to make sure it was great. (it was.) He called me a month after I bought the car to make sure it was great. (it was) Normally, I don't take my cars to the dealer for service - I tend to feel like they gouge consumers - but since Lannan is so close to my work and because they've been so great, I'll be breaking my own rule and taking it there. All in all, Elliott and the team at Lannan treated me like a person, not a quota-meeter or a paycheck, and that is AWESOME. More

Also, couldnt leave out Bryce Hanson, who assisted me the sold right away. He was gentlemen the whole time, which made this experience less painfull. After looking at Consumer Reports and test driving a Honda Fit, a Nissan Versa, and a Mazda 3, we decided on a Mazda 3. The dealership where we test drove the Mazda 3 (not Lannan Mazda) did the usual dealer tricks – the salesman went to talk to the manager for 15-20 minutes several times. We finally decided to leave. He stopped us and gave us a price ‘only good for that day’ after having told him earlier we would need to think about any offer and were not going to buy it that day. We then went online with five other dealerships in the area and had some email and phone exchanges. Lannan and another dealership had the car we were looking for at a very good price including all fees (about 600 under Edmunds.com’s True Market Value) and both were friendly and responsive over email and phone. Our representative up to this point was Alex Lannan. We decided to go with Lannan as they were closer. We made an appointment to see the car and met Bryce Hanson. He was also very friendly, low pressure, and showed us the car and took us for a test drive. We were very pleased and asked to finalize the sale and make sure the price was what we had agreed with Alex. He went to get the manager who came back and said ‘I’m sorry but…’ at which point I thought, ’here we go, what do you expect, there’s another fee we weren’t told about, oh well we’ll try the backup dealership’. However, he finished by saying that the car we were quoted had fog lights (which I hadn’t known and didn’t care about) but this one didn’t so the cost was 200 less. I was stunned. Is this really a car dealership? Was Rod Serling somewhere in the shadows? Friendly and less than we were quoted!? It was all true, we finished the paperwork the next day and got the car a few days later (the same day I’m writing this) and every interaction was low key and friendly. Highly recommended. More
