Among other revelations, the Weissach package sheds an additional 40 pounds and includes the first carbon fiber stabilizer bars ever fitted to a production automobile. This 991 edition GT2RS is pushing 700 horses, courtesy of a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six with a water-spraying system to cool its intake charge. Peak torque comes in at 553 lb-ft and is delivered to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transaxle PDK transmission. The RS addendum stands for Renn Sport and indicates this cars track-centric mission. In late September 2017, the GT2 RS made a 6:47.3 minute lap time around the Nürburgring, making it the fastest production car lap time recorded on the track at the time.
