Due to concerns over customer interest and costs, Bentley's executives determined the time was ripe for a Bentley constructed with standard steel coachwork. The result, the Mark VI (and its sister car, the Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn), proved to be exactly what their customers were looking for. However, while most Mark VI Bentleys were delivered with the new standard body, some were still sold with the intent of being finished by traditional coachbuilders. One of the most impressive designs used was Park Ward's Drophead Coupe. Only 57 are believed to have been constructed in this style, each featuring aluminum panels and opulent, leather-lined interiors. Today, any Mark VI is a statement on the road. However, coach-built examples naturally attract the most attention amongst investors and enthusiasts. The magnificent 1948 Bentley Mark IV Drophead Coupe (Convertible) featured here is finished in gorgeous Mistletoe Green over a Beige leather interior surrounded by stunning Burl Walnut woodwork throughout and a Green folding soft top. This exquisite motorcar was just released from a world-class collection and is now ready for its next caretaker. A complete service including new Coker whitewall tires has just been completed by our service facility. I personally believe that this car, due to the fact it is one of only 57 produced with less than ten known to exist today, should prove to be a tremendous investment that should grow beyond your imagination. Offered to the most sophisticated collector, investor, or enthusiast understands and appreciates the investment potential of this extremely rare and desirable classic!
