This Dealer Lied About Sale to Raise the Price on a Truck I approached this dealer online about a vehicle they had listed at a certain price, supposedly a base model. After getting a return call from William I approached this dealer online about a vehicle they had listed at a certain price, supposedly a base model. After getting a return call from William Giron on the phone and expressing interest, I began realizing it was the ideal vehicle I had been looking for. I began asking technical questions about features to verify the truck would work for me. I was then put on with Robert Schilling. As we talked he started saying things like he didn't know base models could have this and that, he realized that it was probably not a base. Still I told him I was interested in making a deposit and to let me call right back to move some money around for this $1K+ deposit. He said sure and gave him his own personal number and said, and I quote, "You know we are gonna be great friends, right?" So I give a call back in less than an hour, and no response. Text him, email, sent responses to the general manager PJ Arnal who sent an e-mail to ask about level of service while I had been talking to Robert. I also called the front desk and expressed specifically that he had said he was ready to take my deposit. They said they would get back to me because he was away from his desk. All these lines of communication and suddenly there was radio silence. Finally I get the e-mail several hours later from PJ. The truck has been sold. I was frustrated but moved on to try to discover other options. That night, as I keep up my nightly scan of available trucks routine. And lo and behold, what do I find? The truck they told me was sold.....LISTED AT A HIGHER PRICE! Almost $1.4K more. They took the info I asked about features and used it to raise the price. I am not one to often leave scathing negative reviews. But how I was mislead and used in this process was the absolute nightmare and anti-thesis of how a customer should be treated. My only solace is that the true colors of all involved were revealed before actually making any purchase, saving any financial commitment to a dealership whose sole bottom line is 100% their bottom line. I hope the $1.4K of profit was worth the price of a negative review. Your business is the reason people have such disdain for the car purchase process. More
