TLDR: Waste of Time, Disgusting Manipulative Tactics Buying a car should be an exciting and straightforward process, but my recent experience at GY Ford Frankfort was the opposite. It started Tactics Buying a car should be an exciting and straightforward process, but my recent experience at GY Ford Frankfort was the opposite. It started well—my salesperson seemed to share the love I had for my chosen vehicle—but the moment we got to numbers, the manipulation began. 1. Holding My Trade-In Keys First, they took my trade-in keys, making it difficult to leave while they lowballed my offer by thousands, trying to dismiss a prior quote from a reputable buyer. 2. False Pricing & Bait-and-Switch Despite an "instant internet price," they conveniently didn't know about it and ran numbers with higher prices all the way to close, despite verbally agreeing to lower. When I pointed out a better deal at another dealer, they printed a bad review about that competitor…only to then engage in the same shady tactics themselves. 3. Empty Promises & Pressure Tactics The Sales Manager, Will, verbally agreed on a price, but later backtracked, claiming "confusion" about which vehicle we were talking about. They pushed hard for a deal, with everyone from the Finance Manager, Kevin, to the SM guilting me about their business expenses and while closing, conveniently let me know that another family was interested in the same car. 4. Hidden Fees & Last-Minute Upcharges After putting my stuff in the car, them fueling up the car, taking a picture of m in the car, setting up Ford Pass app, and getting ready to sign, I found the verbal price agreed upon didn't match what was in the Bill of Sale by $2K. They claimed a “Gary Yeoman Package” was included in the vehicle price on the Bill of Sale (Note, if this was a legitimate “package” it would have been identified as an “Additional Item” on the Bill of Sale) because they "couldn't take such a loss." Undisclosed pricing/fees is illegal, but since we negotiated verbally I can't hold them to it - they know this. As I questioned, they explained that all the “complimentary” features GY Frankfort Ford publicly offers online and verbally (Free car washes at a new dealership being built that doesn’t exist yet, 1st years free maintenance, features most dealers routinely offer, etc.) was a “package,” aka upcharge with a $1,960 price tag. When I refused, they pressed it wasn’t optional and offered to "discount" it while pushing for me to add ANOTHER unwanted "discounted" warranty that I'm sure they'd get a kick back off of. This was all tactics to covertly get the bottom line they wanted all along. 5. Unprofessional Behavior To top it off, the married sales guy texted me inappropriately for DAYS. Final Verdict: These dishonest and manipulative practices, combined with unprofessional conduct, completely ruined what should have been an exciting purchase. This dealership does not genuinely care about its customers and purposefully engages in deceptive schemes. If they didn't want to agree on the price, they could've sold me a lower trim or used vehicle I'd shown interest in within my budget, but pressured me to spend more than I wanted to from the get-go. All in all, disgusting experience. If you do business, pay attention and have them quote everything in writing, but they will still likely waste your time. More

Before you shop at Frankfort Ford, I suggest that you look around at the other Ford dealers in the area first. I purchased a vehicle from them in July of 2022. They are the reason car dealers have a bad look around at the other Ford dealers in the area first. I purchased a vehicle from them in July of 2022. They are the reason car dealers have a bad name. I'm still trying to get my warranty money back from them that they shoved down my throat. The finance people hound you and hound you to buy gap and / or extended warranty insurance. There are much better dealerships. More
