Thank you, Michaele for reaching out and sharing. It is important to share all of the details regarding your repairs and experience. Please remember that we offered to purchase all of the necessary parts directly from the dealer, install them, and then take the vehicle to the dealer to have an inspection completed to verify that the work was completed to your satisfaction at no cost to you, to which you agreed to do and we put in writing. After you decided to pursue the repairs on your own through the dealer, we called them on your behalf to reduce the costs and bill that they were attempting to charge you and got a parts cost reduction. The $700 goodwill check that we sent you was to cover the actual cost of that repair job ($612), as well as cover the gas expense utilized coming to see us twice before. At EchoPark, we know that humans are not perfect and can make errors. We take our core values such as Be Transparent and Take the High Road seriously, which is why we will always work with our guests to rectify the issue they experienced. We are saddened to hear that you are not satisfied and thank you for your feedback as it helped us to make significant changes to the quality control process to prevent a situation like this from occurring in the future.

EchoPark’s response to my previous post leaves out the most important fact: the vehicle should never have been sold to me in unsafe conditions in the first place. The “offer” to do repairs after the fact does not change that the car needed $1,500+ in safety-related work immediately after purchase. I chose to have the work done at the Subaru dealer for my own safety and peace of mind, which is my right, especially given that the issues were missed in your inspection process. The $700 check you offered was based on your own discounted internal repair cost, not the $1,500+ I actually had to pay to make the car safe. This feels like classic corporate damage control: framing it as though you went above and beyond, while conveniently skipping over the core issue that the car should never have been sold in unsafe conditions. It also does not address the time, stress, and inconvenience caused by selling me a defective vehicle. I’m sharing this so others know to inspect vehicles thoroughly before purchase and to be cautious about trusting “quality control” claims that do not match reality. I believe companies should be held accountable when they fail to deliver on their own quality and safety standards.
