CarSmart. net in Tennessee (Trey Quick and Jonathan Durkee, specifically) both misled and outright lied to me about the pre-owned Audi A8 that I purchased from net in Tennessee (Trey Quick and Jonathan Durkee, specifically) both misled and outright lied to me about the pre-owned Audi A8 that I purchased from them. As I was trading my vehicle, they requested and I provided photos, videos as well as clear communications of the three imperfections of my vehicle which they would be unable to see if photos unless I specifically pointed them out. These were small issues, yet I knew any buyer would want to be made aware of them. Similarly, I specifically asked them for all issues, problems, shortcoming or “anything that I will have wanted to be told about.” Upon my inquiry “are there two key fobs”, I received the answer “yes.” After the long negotiating dance over several weeks, the car was purchased. Upon delivery, only one chip-enabled key fob was provided, and the small emergency key was missing from that. Also, the lesser issue of no manual in the glove box. It is not reasonable to think that these professionals were unaware of these issues. Their failure to communicate them to me was fraudulent. The quote for getting a replacement key fob and two replacement emergency keys (the small metal key that fits into the fob) was $935.80. They strung me along for ten days of “we’re doing everything we can, Mr Wilcox. Don’t you worry, we’ll take care of these issues.” But nothing happened. They blatantly lied during the discovery process, so why should I expect integrity now? They banked on the fact that I would eventually give up. This is not their first rodeo. If you consider buying from CarSmart.net in Tennessee, make sure to personally see the car firsthand. Do not trust them to be honest and forthright, just because you are. They will say whatever they need to sell. UPDATE: Shawn Bowers, another manager, called me after seeing this review and insisted I had never asked about the keys. Not accurate. Said he had all the recordings (but would not share those with me.) More telling is how that response underwrites how they had no intention to disclosing that the pricey keys/ fobs were missing. Never apologized for that. He asked me to text something to him and the number he provided bounced. He promised to call me back the next day with an update and then did not. I called him and, again, he promised a call the next day. Again, no call. All of this underwrites my original warnings to online buyers. This may not convince anyone to not buy from them - just know that unless you ask (or even if you do, as in my case) they will not volunteer the shortcomings. More
