I recently purchased a used Acura Integra Type S with a 6-speed manual transmission. The dealership presented a clean service report and claimed their inspection showed no issues. Upon investigating, I found: Multiple independent mechanics who looked at the car unanimously confirmed this damage was from long-term abuse and poor driving technique - damage that couldn't possibly have occurred during my brief ownership. Most damning of all, I even had the chance to speak with the car's prior service center where they confirmed that the car had indeed exhibited similar issues in prior service appointments and the owner chose not to make repairs. Beyond the clutch, there was significant additional wear and tear to other parts of the car that Lou Sobh Honda either missed in their ‘inspection’ or chose not to disclose. When confronted with this evidence, Lou Sobh Honda accused me of not knowing how to drive a stick and having caused this damage myself. I have owned manual cars my whole life and driven hundreds of thousands of miles using a manual transmission - I even learned how to drive and took my driving test on a stick and the car I traded in to Lou Sobh Honda was a manual car with close to 200K miles on it - and I have never managed to blow out a clutch before. To suggest that I could destroy the clutch in what is one of the most reliable car brands in mere miles, is just an absurd attempt to avoid any responsibility.
