What should have been a celebratory, exciting process quickly turned into an interaction full of manipulation, evasion, and arrogance—led by dealership owner CJ Wilson and General Manager Mr. Paul. After hours of texting and a detailed phone call with one of their sales reps (Sean Cawthon), we confirmed we wanted the car and asked how to submit our deposit. Sean suddenly paused the conversation, came back with a vague excuse about an internal mix-up, and refused to take our deposit. It was only after pressing him—multiple times—that he finally admitted the car had been sold while he continued talking to us like it was still available. This wasn’t a simple mistake. It was intentional deception, and it was handled with a disturbing level of smugness and disrespect. As longtime Porsche owners and active members of the enthusiast community, we’ve never experienced anything like this. And we want others to be aware. Porsche Fresno, specifically the sales team of Sean Cawthon and Spencer Paul are liars and cannot be trusted with your business. The dealership listed a car online for sale on January 15th and I contac Cawthon and Spencer Paul are liars and cannot be trusted with your business. The dealership listed a car online for sale on January 15th and I contacted them the same day to try and buy it. For nearly a month, I was gaslit and given the run around. Sean repeatedly told me that I could not put down a deposit on the car until it had been serviced and prepped for sale. I checked in with them daily to get the status of the car and kept being told to wait. At the same time, Sean had promised me that I would have first right of refusal on the vehicle and that this has been agreed to by the various sales managers. Additionally the sales team was very hard to communicate with. They would not return calls, they would leave emails unanswered, and not provide information requested about the vehicle. Last week, they sold the car to someone else. Even after they had sold the car, Sean continued to lie to me about its progress through service and when I may be able to buy it. While CJ, the GM, did reply when I reached out to him for support, it was too late. And while he was honest with me about the situation, he offered little in the way of good reasons for allowing someone he seems to know is a liar to continue to work with customers and tarnish his dealerships reputation. Do not trust Porsche Fresno. Sean Cawthon is not a partner in the car buying process, but an active weight sinking you to the ocean floor. More
