My local service guy diagnosed my "xx engine" light in about 10 min. as an engine coolant bypass valve range/performance history fault that I should get repaired at the dealer. I called Belknap Subaru a about 10 min. as an engine coolant bypass valve range/performance history fault that I should get repaired at the dealer. I called Belknap Subaru and asked if they had parts in stock to fix it, to which they replied "yes, if that's the diagnosis we come up with". I drove 45 min. to the dealer, and waited 2 hrs. in the very nicely appointed, and comfortable waiting room. I was then told that it was an "Engine Coolant Bypass Valve Range/Performance history fault (as my dealer had told me) & I would have to return the following week when they could get the part replaced. I did return, and they fixed the problem (covered by warranty) after about and hr. and 1/2. Since I was able to get some work done both times while I waited, I wasn't too upset, but it would have been nice if I didn't have to return for the repair, to have to drive an extra 90 minutes. More
