Bad services misleading customers from service advisor to managers. Recommend unnecessary works cost thousands of dollars. I recently had a highly dissatisfactory experience with service advisor Tereza Guzm managers. Recommend unnecessary works cost thousands of dollars. I recently had a highly dissatisfactory experience with service advisor Tereza Guzman. Her recommendations were deceptive and misleading, suggesting that I pay over $4200 to replace almost the entire exhaust system. I declined to follow her advice and was then charged a diagnostic fee of more than $200. It is worth noting that no actual diagnostic work was conducted, as the condition of the exhaust system is visible to the naked eye and her recommendations were incorrect. In reality, I only needed to replace the rusted bolts, nuts, and gaskets, which would have cost less than $200, including parts and labor, at an independent mechanic's shop. I also had previously encountered an instance where I felt misled by her, and another situation arose where she refused to honor a discount oil change coupon, incorrectly stating that my vehicle necessitates synthetic oil, thus invalidating the coupon, whereas I was aware that my car operates on conventional oil, which I had used during a prior service at her dealership. I made a service appointment because the backup camera on our 2103 Prius stopped working. I told them that the radio and dashboard screen are both working fine. After the technician pulled out the radio, our 2103 Prius stopped working. I told them that the radio and dashboard screen are both working fine. After the technician pulled out the radio, a service person called and asked whether someone else had installed or worked on the camera. No, I said, we had it added by you when we bought the car. They said it was the work of an outside vendor who is no longer in business, that Chambers doesn't know anything about the wiring harness and can't do anything for me. AFTER I had paid the $189 charge, the service person told me that before Toyota began installing backup cameras as standard equipment, Chambers bought them from and had them installed by a third-party vendor. What? That means that as we talked when I brought the 12-year-old car in, they knew that they couldn't do anything for me because an outside vendor had done the installation. *They could have told me that without even looking at the car and charging me $189 for doing so.* We have bought our last two cars from Chambers Toyota and have been quite satisfied with our Service Dept. contacts. In this case, though, I feel we have been very badly served by Herb Chambers Toyota and charged $189 essentially for nothing – for the same information they could have provided with no work and at no charge. I am very dissatisfied with that. More
