Absolutely horrible experience with them. First the GDI system is terrible. Burns oil too fast. No indication of low oil, blew engine. They tried to get me to buy a new engine, until I expose First the GDI system is terrible. Burns oil too fast. No indication of low oil, blew engine. They tried to get me to buy a new engine, until I exposed their lawsuit then they gave me a free engine. But when they gave the car back, they returned it with a failed transmission, broken cat converter. I paid for new cat, returned car with broken muffler, I was pissed. Argued with them, they agreed muffler was their fault and replaced free. Kept arguing about transmission and they won’t replace it. Car was fine until engine blew, found out later by another professional that since oils burning it makes cat work harder causing it to fail and messing up the transmission shift selinoid. Exactly what happened to my car. every time I have gone back to this place they have a whole new team. Turn over is insane. Customer service is garbage. Don’t ever go here or trust them to work on your car! More

Stay far away from Danbury Hyundai. The service department is a joke. Dropped my car off on 9/1/22 and forced to take it back on 9/25/23. New service manager there, Jay, well he calls The service department is a joke. Dropped my car off on 9/1/22 and forced to take it back on 9/25/23. New service manager there, Jay, well he calls himself a manager lies, mistreats, dances around any questions regarding the work they were supposed to have done along with speaking badly about past manager and techs. They kept my car for 12 & 1/2 months for replacement of 2 major components to find out only 1 part was needed, so they now say, just to get my car out of their lot. The claim adjuster from my extended warranty company along with Hyundai’s mechanic identified the other part was needed. Jay came to Danbury in March. Wanted to get all the cars that had been sitting in the lot for months on end for service back to the owners because it didnt look good for them. Jay stated my car never needed to 2nd part. So I guess he was basically saying the adjuster and his mechanic didnt know what they were talking about?!?! I asked 4 times in person, by phone, email and text and they have neglected to provide me in writing that my car didnt need the other part. I don’t feel safe driving the car. They either dont want to admit to any error or they are hiding something about my vehicle and certainly don’t want the liability. But thats ok because I have a recorded call with Jay saying my car didnt need the part in the event a major issue should happen. They replaced brakes, filters, did a front end alignment, detailed the car and a full tank of gas for $0. That was a nice thing to do but it was a cover up because they never finished or intended on finishing the work!! They also had the nerve to say they replaced my battery, you didnt nor did the battery need to be replaced because it was only a year old. Lies! Maureen from Service stated she had been calling to sign a loaner agreement thats needed every 30 days but I never respond to her. Funny because no one else there had a problem calling me and not to mention, I have been at the dealership for oil changed for the loaner from February till the day you forced me out of the loaner and back into my unsafe unreliable vehicle this past September. That day Steve told me my car was ready and finished that afternoon and the parts needed came in and installed. Then service tells me the vehicle was ready for months. Most all of the employees i dealt with when i first brought in my car have either been fired or they were smart enough to leave on their own. Then dealing with Brandon for financing to maybe buy the loaner i was driving that had 12k in miles on it at the time, he works up the numbers and tries to sell it to me as if it had zero miles. Also embarrassing me when he ran my credit saying aloud for all in the showroom to hear i need a co-signer to buy the car. Don’t think so buddy. I have dealt with this dealership since 2009 bought several vehicles and referred buying customers to them. Last thing to mention when buying a used car they show you and tell you the carfax is clean no accidents. Just to recently find out my vehicle was involved in 3 accidents prior to my purchase. They are liars, untrustworthy, disrespectful, deceitful scammers. Shame on you Bill S. and Steve Y. for allowing a “business” to run as such. Stop treating people like animals, stop the lies, stop talking down to people and taking advantage of a situation. Show the respect and honesty that the customers deserve. But to top it all off, corporate doesnt care either. They dont want to hear or deal with any issues. They are just as ignorant! Much wasted time and energy dealing with them. Your response to this will probably be we need your name to look up my file or we couldnt find your paperwork or give us a call to discuss. The damage is done! Sad because you guys had a great dealership years ago. I will agree with the other posts that Carlos Montoya is great! More

Bought two cars from them, one in 2014 - no issues. I don’t know what happened since then but holy crap. Second car we bought had 15,000 miles “certified.” Did all services on time. First “major” servi I don’t know what happened since then but holy crap. Second car we bought had 15,000 miles “certified.” Did all services on time. First “major” service they told us our front brakes were completely failed. They told us the expectation of a pre-owned car brakes there is very low. Today we brought it in and guess what? Complete failure in the rear brakes they claim. So 20,000 miles and the entire brAking systems on both the front and the back needed complete FULL replacement. If we are paying upwards of $600 for each major service, why is it that they aren’t catching these problems before they fail. It is very difficult to do that much damage to a full braking system. And if they lasted roughly 7000 and 20,000 after the certification, what good is the certification. Place is a con job. Not even remotely a reputable business. More

Only buy from Danbury Hyundai if you enjoy putting on clown makeup. This is a ride, so tldr: save yourself the frustration and get a Honda from a different town dealership. I bought a 2014 Certified U clown makeup. This is a ride, so tldr: save yourself the frustration and get a Honda from a different town dealership. I bought a 2014 Certified Used Elantra from this dealership in 2016. The car was a lemon. Many parts needed replacing all the way up to a faulty Catalytic Converter which the service center took over a MONTH to fix. But that’s not the worst part! Soon my car would not turn on despite a very recent battery change. It just clicked over. The service desk said they changed the battery and the problem fixed itself. The problem persisted, so I brought it back and was told I needed to replace a $600+ part. Did so. The problem persisted. They then told me the FIRST battery they gave me was faulty! All three managers were terrified, I saw them huddled in the back figuring out what to say to me. It would have been comical if the head of the mechanic side didn’t have the gall to come out and say “Well, I wasn’t the one here to do it, so it’s not my fault” UNDER THE “We get it right the first time, guaranteed!” sign. I silently walked out in absolute disgust. In all this place got over $1k out of me because they are either CATEGORICALLY awful at their jobs or they are an adept scam. I hoped I never had to go back. But because the universe loves having the last laugh, my catalytic converter started giving me issues this week. I dreaded calling the number, but couldn’t help but laugh as I was hung up on 4 times before I could even ask a question. The Danbury Hyundai struggle bus is still chugging, I guess. Once I finally got to speak to someone I was told the part had a 12 month warranty and they won’t replace it, even if it’s faulty. I give up. I present to you this review as my last gasp of sanity. P.S. I’m the daughter of a used car salesman. I know the game. The man that sold me my car was the sales manager. The dude is the slimiest example of a salesman. He told me to “think of him as family” right off the bat, along with many other tired tropes. I needed the car for work so I held through, but you can give your money to a dealership with more honest tactics if that kind of thing matters to you. More

I have the worst experience in my life dealing with those folks. This is not my first experience with dealerships but Danbury Hyundai needs to do better with customer service on both ends, car services and s folks. This is not my first experience with dealerships but Danbury Hyundai needs to do better with customer service on both ends, car services and sales. As far as the General sales manager Anthony, you're a near professional liar. Ryan from service, you're all the same. They don't call nor answering calls. I hope they fire you or someone shots down this dealership with a lawsuit. You'll hear from me again. More
