I had a frustrating experience with Zag Motors regarding my Clean Vehicle discount. I purchased a Nissan Leaf from them on June 7, 2024, expecting to qualify for the Clean Vehicle Tax Credit. However, when my Clean Vehicle discount. I purchased a Nissan Leaf from them on June 7, 2024, expecting to qualify for the Clean Vehicle Tax Credit. However, when I filed my taxes, the IRS rejected my claim because Zag Motors never submitted the required Clean Vehicle Seller Report (Form 15400). After contacting the dealership, the finance manager eventually admitted that they were unable to submit the report at the time of sale. Per IRS regulations, they were required to submit it within three days—but they failed to do so. This mistake has now cost me the tax credit I was entitled to, and I was never given the proper documentation needed to claim it. I strongly advise potential buyers to be cautious when purchasing an EV from Zag Motors. Their failure to follow federal requirements and properly handle necessary paperwork has caused me significant inconvenience. Furthermore, Zag Motors has claimed they informed me and it's my fault that I didn't remember and further adds that I was given a discount to compensate for the it already. This off course is what they claim so that they don't have to own up to their mistake. It appears all is fine and dandy with them until it is not. When that happens, you are no longer a customer, but a nuisance that wants them to own up to their mistakes. This was absolutely my fault that I didn't do the proper research on the required paperwork before dealing with a Used Car lot. What do you expect genius, they're going to be nice and help you out when it doesn't benefit them. Anyone else purchased an EV from these guys and found out you can't claim it because the Form 15400 wasn't submitted to the IRS? More
