This was a very traditional car dealership experience. The salesmen, Joe, was a decent, honest guy caught in the middle. Eventually, I did decide to purchase the car, but almost walked out before signing because the interest rate they guaranteed me was suddenly a point higher (2.9 to 3.9% from Monday 4/14 to Wed 4/16). The Finance manager's response was "Mazda did that to us, they never raise rates mid month." Fortunately, he walked out to the "decision maker" down the hall, who actually came back with him and told me they will honor the rate negotiated (2.9%), but I had to back date the contract (and pay for two days of owning a car retroactively) .It was a reasonable compromise, but I was ready to ask for my plates back (on my trade-in) and call it all off. The car is wonderful so far. If you want an old-fashioned car buying experience, then Werner is your place. More
