We have had nothing but great experiences at the dealership. From the sales team to the service dept. I am on crutches and they have a pick up and deliver service cant beat that. Great experience here and the Hwak family. Paul provided perfect service from the time we walked the lot to the time he walked us out to our new truck. I purchased my 2022 Ford Edge from Hawk Ford (St. Charles, IL) on 5/31/25. Over the last 10 days, I have enjoyed driving my vehicle, although an emissions light has caused me to get service today. I am much less happy with the sales transaction itself with Hawk Ford. After test driving a car listed on the website, the dealer made a base price offer (not including the typical add-ons) that was significantly higher than what was posted on the Hawk website. I pointed this out and was given a bogus story about this being from a “third party website” over which they have no control. I pulled up the Hawk website to disprove this falsehood. Then there was an attempt to charge me extra for the “certified” warranty, but this vehicle was already listed as such on the website. Both of these deceptive sales tactics is why used car salesman have the reputation they do. There was also some strange friction between certain dealership staff that was off-putting. Today, when my vehicle was already in need of service at Hawk Ford, I was informed that the certified warranty came with a $100 deductible. While I was grateful the service department waived the fee in response to my complaint, it is still frustrating that this feature of the warranty was not called out to us at the time of sale. I compare this experience at Hawk to another family member's recent experience at Gerald Ford/Hyundai in North Aurora, IL. A used vehicle was purchased without any of the games. It was a welcome departure from the Hawk experience. As a result of all of this, I can’t give Hawk Ford positive marks, nor am I likely to return there for any future purchases or service. More
