On April 21st, 2020 we bought a new RAV4 Hybrid XLE from When my wife and I bought our new RAV4 hybrid from Jim Coleman in April we had a discussion with staff that led us to believe that if the APR changed When my wife and I bought our new RAV4 hybrid from Jim Coleman in April we had a discussion with staff that led us to believe that if the APR changed before our first payment we could revise our finance agreement as detailed in the unfavorable review below. It turns out that no such program exists. When we complained about what we perceived as misinformation, Patrick Coleman intervened and provided an extremely fair solution. This was the second vehicle we have purchased from this dealership. It is now likely that down the road about 200,000 miles or so we will purchase a third. We have revised our rating up in accordance with this. On April 21st, 2020 we bought a new RAV4 Hybrid XLE from Jim Coleman Toyota in Bethesda, MD. This is the second new vehicle we have purchased from them in 8 years. At the signing of our purchasing documents we were explicitly told to pay attention to the monthly changes in the APR financing opportunities offered by Toyota Financial because if the rates became more favorable before our first payment came due on July 20th, 2020, that we could readjust our rates, but that this option would cease upon our first payment. Apparently this was an outright lie. We are now told that the rate became irrevocably fixed as soon as the sale was final. We find this behavior unconscionable. The Sales management has characterized it as a miscommunication. That, too, is a lie. The instructions to pay attention to rate changes were clear and detailed, with absolutely no warning that it was futile to do so, but with a clear assertion that we could take advantage of the rate change. We are not in the habit of making audio recordings of important transactions because, like most Americans, we operate on the assumption the established small businesses deal honorably with the public. The friendliness of the people working at Jim Coleman makes a great difference. And that's why I always prefer Jim Coleman passing by a lot other Toyota dealers. I had a chance to meet the General Manager Patrick Coleman and he is always trying to do his best to accommodate customer needs. I definitely recommend checking Jim Coleman Toyota before you buy your new vehicle. More

STOP- DONT WASTE YOUR SANITY This was my first ever experience buying a new vehicle, and the experience I've had at this dealership was abominable, detestable, absolutely horrible This was my first ever experience buying a new vehicle, and the experience I've had at this dealership was abominable, detestable, absolutely horrible! I'm in the process of dealing with my bank because they didn't send the title as they promised they were going to do and they won't call me back! Either the receptionist at the front doesn't forward messages along or they just are deciding not call back! PLEASE READ ON... They might not actually check to make sure your vin number that you are driving off the lot is actually the one with the paperwork you signed for. (First time buyer didn't know I had to be the one to check it) 8 days later on the day I leave for vacation they call and tell me the truck I'm driving isn't the one on the paperwork (also means my its not correct on my insurance!) While I do appreciate the accessories to try and fix the situation they caused. They clearly don't actually know their product. Ordered wrong accessories for my truck twice and then later said they thought my vehicle came with it. So they had to order extra parts for their mistake again! Can't follow direction to put the hard plates on the truck (Reception issue again, I'm assuming) Got a letter from the bank Aug 30 called that same date and they actually answered and said they would mail it on Monday. Thought I they would do it so I didn't think anything of it. Got a Second letter from the bank Nov. 1st saying.. "Failure to get a copy of the title will result in Default." Called and talked to receptionist and asked to speak with Umar (haven't heard anything back), I've called all weekend and still haven't been able to talk to someone about their SCREW UP AGAIN!!!!!!! I even reached out to Patrick Coleman and left him a voicemail and still haven't gotten a call back. So if you are thinking of buying a vehicle here with this crap of service, let me save you some time, energy and stress. Don't support someone who won't support you back! Love- the Distressed Customer you've caused! More

Got me a terrific deal on a new car. I needed a new car. My lease was just about up. I had over 2K in negative equity in my trade and thought I would have to go with a pre-owned car. When I needed a new car. My lease was just about up. I had over 2K in negative equity in my trade and thought I would have to go with a pre-owned car. When I called them, they encouraged me to come n and get my trade appraised and just to take a look around. When I arrived they insisted that I test drove a NEW vehicle before I even looked at there USED inventory. I told them that I couldn't afford a new vehicle but they insisted. I got back with the new car and they gave me an unbelievable number. They must have worked very hard but somehow they got my a brand new car for LESS than the price on the used car i had come in to see. I have lived all over the country and this is far and away the BEST Toyota dealership I have ever worked with. More

Godwin and Daniel help ensure I received the car I wanted at a fair and reasonable price. I almost did not get a car with Jim Coleman because of my initial contacts, but Godwin and Daniel stepped in and res at a fair and reasonable price. I almost did not get a car with Jim Coleman because of my initial contacts, but Godwin and Daniel stepped in and resolved all issues. I am now very happy with my car and pleased with the customer service provided by Daniel and Godwin. I would buy again from Godwin and Daniel and highly recommend their excellent customer service. Imagine this. Jim Coleman Toyota aquires a Toyota from another dealer in VA. He get's it cheap because it is damaged. He repairs the damage and sends it to auction and lists it it as no prior damage or pa another dealer in VA. He get's it cheap because it is damaged. He repairs the damage and sends it to auction and lists it it as no prior damage or paint to get the most money under false pretenses. The auction does not know that he has decieved them, the dealer who bought it does not know that he has decieved them, and finally the buyer discovers the decpetion by registering the VIN with Toyota and speaks to a dealer who finds the Jim Coleman Toyoota's R.O. # for $2800 in front end repair not reported to any agency that would show it on thier record such as CARFAX. Knowing this would you buy from this dealer? I think not. More

I worked with Matt Muradaz and Patrick Coleman. Both were professional, straightforward, and courteous throughout the entire process. Matt in particular worked very hard to answer all of my questions and als professional, straightforward, and courteous throughout the entire process. Matt in particular worked very hard to answer all of my questions and also gave advice that help negotiate the process with other dealers before I returned to Jim Coleman Toyota. The sales process was low pressure, I was given plenty of time to shop around, and when it came time to negotiate a price Patrick did not use typical cliched high pressure techniques, simply stated what he was and was not willing to offer (while giving me plenty of opportunities to pay more, but not pressuring me into it). Overall, we had an excellent experience with our Rav4 purchase. The professionalism and responsiveness of Patrick Coleman and his sales representative, Pat Corey, were outstanding. The only drawback, which was not within their control, was the excessive amount of time it took to get the car through the cleaning and preparation process. It was a lengthy ordeal -- taking nearly 2 hours to complete. Even with that problem, we had a exceptional experience and would not hesitate to return to Coleman Toyota for our future purchases. This is significant given the fact that the dealership is more than an hour (one way) from our home!
