Excellent Buying Experience I recently purchased a 2019 XC60 from Silver Spring Volvo and wanted to share my thoughts regarding my purchase experience. I was in the market for I recently purchased a 2019 XC60 from Silver Spring Volvo and wanted to share my thoughts regarding my purchase experience. I was in the market for a new vehicle after running my 2008 Volvo XC90 more than 220k miles. I honestly dreaded the thought of having to go through the new car buying process, primarily because I assumed that I would be inundated with emails/calls etc. I was pretty certain I wanted another Volvo, but I wasn’t sure until after I started considering other makes/models. My mind kept going back to Volvo based on my experience with my XC90 – safety and durability were most important to me, so I decided I would stick with Volvo for these reasons. I started researching MD and VA Volvo dealership inventories online approximately 8 weeks before my actual purchase. Silver Spring had a pretty large inventory, so I requested some info via their website, and was immediately contacted by a sales consultant, Peter Larson. Initially we communicated via email, but later in the process texting was more efficient for both of us. It was clear to me that Peter was experienced; he is very knowledgeable about these vehicles, and I never felt like he was being “sales-y”/pushy or eager to sell me a car. A couple weeks later, I was ready to test drive some vehicles. I didn’t want to feel pressured, so I went to Silver Spring dealership without making an appointment. Peter happened to be there that day, and was happy to take me out for some test drives. I felt very comfortable talking to him, and asking questions, but I was not ready to commit to purchasing that day. I continued looking at Volvo inventories online, comparing models and pricing. I reached out to 2 other dealerships via websites, communicated via email with 2-3 other sales consultants at other dealerships, and visited one other dealership during the course of a couple weeks. I ended up returning to Silver Spring a few weeks later to test drive an XC90, at which point afterward, I knew I wanted an XC60. I spent a little time with Peter and Noah in the office going over the numbers, and discussing a fair offer for my 2008 XC90. Noah was very professional and courteous as he presented me with a few purchasing options, some that I had not even considered. I still had not yet committed to the purchase, and wanted to think some more before deciding. During that time, I kept communication open with Peter and Noah, but never did I feel like they were trying to pressure me in to buying. I have to commend them for offering to holding the car for me and for being patient as I thought more about it. The day before I bought the car, I emailed Peter and told him I would be there the following morning to purchase the XC60. The process took a little longer than I expected, but a lot of that time was spent on reviewing financing alternatives and ensuring that I had a thorough understanding of the vehicle maintenance and warranty requirements. Also, since it had been more than 10 years since my first Volvo purchase, I had a lot of questions regarding the car’s technology. Overall, my experience with Peter, Noah and the Silver Spring dealership was excellent and I am more than satisfied with my purchase. In my opinion, Volvos are the best vehicles on the road, nothing even comes close. The vehicles are safe, dependable, resilient, comfortable, and visually stunning! I am a Volvo customer for life! I submitted a contact us form through their website the night before I was ready to make my purchase. Peter contacted me early the next morning to let me know that there were appointments on my selected vehicle already set, so I should come in quickly. I got there first, and Peter listened to my needs and helped me decide on a different vehicle with both expert advice and extensive knowledge of Volvo’s features. Honest, efficient, and knowledgeable I would recommend everyone I know to not only consider a CPO Volvo but to speak to Peter above all others. More
